Rockets pick

Just a thought but what about the Rockets trading Stromile + alston/head for golden states 9th or seattles 10th pick? since both teams need a big man and alston and head just as extras?

2 overpaid/underperforming players in Stromile and Alston? No thx

Rockets should draft Redick and let him stroke the triple to open up McGrady

1-Alston
2-Reddick
3-McGrady
4-Swift
5-Yao

Could easily make the playoffs and be a contender if Alston and Swift stop underachieving and McGrady and Yao stay healthy and Reddick stops getting DWIs.

If we take Redick, we better have traded down..............

dwillreg 06-22-2006 11:49 AM

8 isn't bad value for Redick considering the Celtics, Magic, Hornets, and Jazz anre all in the top 14 and interested. Plus Reddick will have a great career as a ROLE PLAYER, he will never be a star but he will hit threes and shoot lights out. 8 is not a reach for Reddick.

I think Houston is trading with Orlando so Orlando can get Randy Foye or Ronnie Brewer and Houston can get Reddick at a more reasonable #11.

DreamRuled 06-22-2006 03:01 PM

I love Duke, but 8 is to high fo Reddick. He is going to be a solid roleplayer, and he'll hit the open three, but we've gotten that guy a few times in the past (Matt Maloney, Brent Price, the Drew kid...can't remember his first name). We need a lot of things, but mostly we need athelets who can run just a little bit. While Reddick is always active, I don't think he's going to be what we need right now. If we just need a shooter, lets get Head in the gym and let him shoot 3 after 3 after 3 until he's consistant, like he was in the begining of last season. If we can get a 4 with a little range on his shot (is there a guy like that this year?) or a guy who can play good perimeter defense for the back court. If people are healthy, then our shooting woes will be less obvious. Every year, there's going to be some one available who can stroke a 3 regularly, even if he's not quite as good at it as Reddick. I'm dreaming of Roy, but hoping for either Marcus Williams or Ronnie Brewer.

You can trade up for Andrea Bargnani if you want to (it would cost a lot) or if he is left around 5 it would be more reasonable to trade up for him then. Or they will have to wait untill the second round for a 4 like Kevin Pitsnogle.

What do you think of the rumors of a Magic/Rockets swap involving the picks and a resigned DeShawn Stevenson?

If the Rockets can still get Reddick then the trade is good.

DreamRuled 06-23-2006 02:39 AM

If the rockets can get Reddick outside of the top 10, plus a halfway decent rotation player in return for #8, I'm ok with that. But he's not a top 10 player in the draft.

Still dreaming to get Roy, but hoping for Brewer

.

I think Foye would be a good fit.

I think Foye would have to play 2 guard in Houston though.

wTFaMonkey 06-23-2006 03:19 PM

you guys are missing the point. redick has no defense at all. he would be a nice fit for the offense side but as we all know, jvg wants defense

1)alston
2)reddick
3)tmac
4)juwan
5)yao

not happening unless we get a defender in the offseason

dwillreg 06-23-2006 03:49 PM

JJ can play a little D. That is an underrated part of his game.
