Deron Williams and Damion James are out the next two games

Deron Williams will miss the Nets' next two games, Wednesday vs. Golden State and Friday vs. the Clippers, to be with his wife in Dallas for the birth of their fourth child. Damion James is expected to miss the same two games as he recovers from the concussion he suffered in Saturday's win over the Raptors in London.

Expect Jordan Farmar to start at point guard, but don't expect to see Travis Outlaw back starting at small forward. Quinton Ross (back) is also out at least two games, and Johan Petro (sick) will likely miss the Warriors game. That leaves the Nets with just 10 healthy bodies.

Hmm..

Cons: No superstar to help get easy looks. Damion was finally back. Chemistry issues will probably continue

Pros: Opens up more time for Brandan Wright. Uzoh gets some time as well. Allows Outlaw to play mostly SF.

That's the first thing that came to my mind. It's dissapointing not only because Outlaw is garbage but also because James was actually starting to find his rythm out there. I really liked what he was doing on the defensive side and I think the offensive game would have started to show.

During today's shootaround, Avery Johnson offered a little insight into the concussion suffered by Damion James.

Unlike the one Anthony Morrow suffered Friday -- which was only a mild concussion that had no lingering symptoms -- James' concussion sustained Saturday is far more serious.

"He still has headaches, he still has a concussion," Johnson said. "It's not concussion-like symptoms, he has a Grade 1 concussion."

Johnson said he will definitely be out for at least tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors and Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The plan is to get James on a stationary bike early next week, which would likely count him out for Monday's game against the Boston Celtics as well.

"If this kid can't play, something is really wrong," Johnson said.
