Ben Wallace? Out of Detroit?

Reports have said that Ben Wallace wants out of Detroit. Shocking, whatever team gets him, see you in the championship, unless your coach is Flip Saunders. If Ben Wallace goes to Dallas, they'd be my favorite to win. Hopefully the Spurs dont get him, last thing they need is another ring.

I don't believe it, but if true...Raef and the 7th pick via S&T?

#1, please show us these "reports," as this goes against everythign we've heard from ben so far.

also.. going to dallas or the spurs? impossible if he wants a payday.

new orleans, chicago, toronto, atlanta = the only teams beside Detroit who can offer ben the $$$ he's looking for.

also... did johnysic's virus spread to you through the boston fam? i thought he was the only boston fan that came up with unrealistic trades that grossly favour the Celts?

come on buckets... you're better than that.

I don't even get who you are to be criticizing Johnny. As it stands, I'm just figuring that if Wallace is really determined to leave, Detroit may as well get something for him. The 7th pick is of course valuable, and although his deal is bad per year it'd only be for three years and Raef would be a good fit for Saunders' offense-first style when his jumper is falling. They'd be better than just losing Wallace for nothing as an FA.

so, less than a year after they trade darko for a first rounder and expirers, they're going to trade their DPOY, allstar center for a large contract and another first rounder?

i mean... they got a better deal for Darko... :hammerhead:

Darko wasn't a free agent, genius. What you don't seem to understand is that if Big Ben is determined to leave they lose him for nothing if they don't negotiate a sign-and-trade.

Rae and the 7th for Ben? Dumars laughs out loud.

theinfamousmobb 06-21-2006 01:09 PM

With Detroits "starting 5" no more, the East is Miami's to lose next season:pimp:

Would you rather have Wallace just leave the team for nothing?

Raef has one of the worst contracts in the NBA. I don't see Boston pawning him and his 3 reminaing years off on anyone unless it's part of a Pierce package.

i'd rather take NOTHING, than take on Raef and his contract. and if ben was determined to leave detroit, you think he would sign in boston?

you're clearly not an idiot, im just suggesting that you come up with a trade idea that is somewhat realistic.

using your logic, i came up with a couple trades:

nesterovic + udrih for ben... it's better than nothing :confusedshrug:
darius miles + ha sun jin... it's better than nothing :confusedshrug:
adonal foyle + cabarkapa... it's better than nothing :confusedshrug:

back in reality, we might see something like:
Brad Miller + Kevin Martin for Ben Wallace

I rather listen to other offers. Rather let Ben walk for nothing if nothing is out there because why EAT a crap contract from Raef just to get the 7th pick? When the following offseason you can use Ben's cap room to splurge into free agency.

Bad deals get moved all the time. Look at Keith Van Horn. Meanwhile the seventh pick could net a player that produces more for his team over his career than Wallace will for the rest of his. Marcus Williams, Saer Sene, Rudy Gay if he slides, all could contribute more over the course of their careers than the 4 or 5 good years Wallace may have left.
