ARMANI MILAN brings Gallinari home

Emporio Armani Milan is bringing one of the club's favorite sons back by signing Danilo Gallinari, who was the 2008 Euroleague Rising Star Trophy when he last wore the team’s colors. Gallinari (2.08 meters, 23 years old) has spent the past three seasons in the NBA, first with New York and then Denver. Last season he averaged 15.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 62 games between those clubs. He spent the summer with the Italian national team, for whom he tallied 15.2 points and 6.4 boards in five games at EuroBasket 2011. The son of former Euroleague champ Vittorio Gallinari, who won the crown with Milano in 1987, the junior Gallinari followed in his father’s footsteps and made his Euroleague debut for the club as a 17-year old. He was a full-time starter and the team’s leading scorer before he turned 20 after averaging 14.9 points and 4.2 rebounds over 11 Euroleague games in the 2007-08 campaign. At the end of that season he overcame Partizan center Nikola Pekovic for the Euroleague Rising Star Trophy.

CAJA LABORAL adds Seraphin to front line

Caja Laboral addressed a need for front court players with the signing of Kevin Seraphin. The big man comes off a silver-medal winning performance at EuroBasket 2011 with the French national team. Seraphin (2.05 meters, 21 years old) averaged 4.7 points and 1.9 rebounds over nine games in Lithuania for les Bleus. He spent last season for Washington in the NBA where he produced 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds over 58 appearances. A native of French Guiana, Seraphin developed at Cholet Basket where he made his professional debut as a teenager. He played in the Eurocup during the 2009-10 campaign, but Caja Laboral represents his first Turkish Airlines Euroleague opportunity. Serpahin also collected a silver medal at the 2009 European under-20 Championships with the French selection. At Laboral, he will help fill the shoes of the injured Maciej Lampe, who will miss at least the first half of the season with a hip injury.

REAL MADRID lands Fernandez

A former Rising Star Award winner and a reigning European champion is set to return to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague with the news that Real Madrid has signed Rudy Fernandez (1.97 meters, 26 years old). The popular swing man has spent the past three seasons in the NBA playing for Portland. He averaged 8.6 points and 2.5 assists in 78 NBA games last season and 9.1 points and 2.2 assists over 218 games in his three seasons there. In June his NBA rights were traded to Dallas, though he has never played for that franchise. Fernandez started his career with Joventut Badalona, whom he led to a glorious period in the mid-2000s. He was chosen as the 2007-08 Euroleague Rising Star after averaging 15.8 points in 19 games. Fernandez also led Joventut to the 2006 FIBA Europe Cup and the 2008 ULEB Cup titles. He was chosen as the 2008 ULEB Cup final eight MVP. He averaged 16 points in the final three games to lead Joventut to the trophy. Fernandez also won the 2008 Spanish King's Cup, during which he collected MVP honors. He is a regular member of the Spanish national team. Fernandez led Spain to victories at the 2006 FIBA World Championships, EuroBasket 2009, when he was chosen to the All-Tournament team, and most recently at EuroBasket 2011. He also has silver medals from the 2008 Olympics and EuroBasket 2007.

Gallo better not get too comfortable over there. The NBA won't last long without it's third best small forward.

Does Gallo's contract have an opt out clause if the NBA season starts?. Denver's players getting snatched up like crazy. Pretty sure both Chandler and J.R are playing overseas regardless of what happens in the NBA. If Gallo get's added to that list and Nene doesn't re-sign Denver's heading to the lottery :lol

I wonder if Anthony Parker will rejoin Euroleague when he's like 50 and just dominate for fun.

Yep, every player with an NBA contract this year has to come back over if there's a season this year.

Great. Watch him get injured and miss half the season again.

I'd really like to see Seraphin and Fernandez play there, that's what they need especially Seraphin who could develop into something really good.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he stayed in Spain.

Too bad for the Mavs, they traded away a potentially very talented (albeit immature) swingman in Jordan Hamilton, hoping Rudy would be a piece for the future.
