BENETTON BASKET lands Scalabrine

Benetton Basket Treviso made official the signing of forward Brian Scalabrine on Thursday, the day it announced that Eurocup Rising Star Trophy winner Donatas Motjeiunas was going on loan to Turkish Airlines Euroleague club Asseco Prokom. Scalabrine (2.06 meters, 33 years old) has spent his entire professional career to date in the NBA, where he helped Boston with the 2008 title. He has also played for New jersey, with whom he reached back-to-back NBA finals in 2002 and 2003, and Chicago during his 10-season career. Scalabrine appeared in a total of 492 regular season and 39 playoff games in the NBA. His best season from an individual point of view was in 2004-05, when he accounted for 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for New Jersey. Last season he tallied 1.1 points in 18 games as a reserve for Chicago. Scalabrine was considered to be a popular player with fans throughout his career. He was also a college teammate of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv forward David Blu at the University of Southern California.

This forum is full of numerous people that GUARANTEED that Scalabrine would get a Euroleague contract. I said he would not, because he is not good enough for Euroleague teams to have interest in him.

This forum had numerous people that GUARANTEED that Scalabrine would win the Euroleague championship and Euroleague MVP. Nope........., as I said, no Euroleague team would have interest in Scalabrine.

Sure enough, he had to sign with a European second tier level Eurocup club, because he could NOT get a contract with a European first tier level Euroleague club.

I don't understand how anyone can hate on the GOAT. Scal wanted to sign with a lower tier league so he can save the reputation of the top Euro players. Such a considerate man he is.:applause:

Without knowing the entire story, carefully crafted words can make any player look like an accomplished superstar.
