Kurt Thomas may favor Knicks, Bulls, Heat or Mavs

Kurt Thomas is old but still rugged, still ballin, and not looking to retire yet.

What do you think of his career and how he can help a possible contender?

He could help Miami, he is better than all the Miami backup centres.
Plus he only has to get through a short season.

I think there is a good chance he comes here unless someone offers him multiple years. He wants to live in NYC, and to possibly do that by joining the Knicks coaching staff when his career is done.

Type of player the Knicks need. He's a true bigman and not a SF forced to play centre in D'Antoni's system. Plus you know the coach will play him. Underrated acquisition for the Knicks.

Loved what he did for the Bulls last year. Rugged defender who can shoot a lil bit.

Thomas got significant minutes playing for the Bucks a couple years ago , and was an excellent 1-2 punch with Bogut.
He could of easily re-signed , but chose the Bulls.
No reason to see him go away from the Bulls unless he thinks the final year should be a ring with the Heat.

It seems like yesterday , he was saying he never wanted to play the 5 as a knick and wanted his pure PF spot .. but Ewing down one to many times , he filled the spot and found a profoundly long career as a PRO.

If he isn't a Bull he will be a Heat.

Way past his prime but I thought he did a great job for Chicago last year when Noah was out. Still tough, still can hit his jumper and great veteran leadership.

:lol Ring chasing pretty hard there.

He'll be a Knick, I have a feeling we're going to use him a lot.

I would like to see him on the Knicks.
Sign him on a 1-year contract,he can help us this season and his contract will come off the books just when we need.

Re: Kurt Thomas may favor Knicks, Bulls, Heat or Mavs

Those who saw him play last year, must agree that he was one of the better post defenders in the league still. He’s oldschool and plays physical, rugged ball. He’s still a solid rebounder and doesn’t make bad decisions on offense. He still has that reliable mid range jumper as well, eventhough he doesn’t shoot often. Drtg may not be a really reliable stat, but 98 is pretty good and Kurt Thomas was just that.

He’s old, but still played 23 minutes per game last season and looked great out there. He’s a year older now, a year slower probably, but if he still wants to play, I think he could make any team better with his veteran play.

As for where he should sign.. If the Mavs can’t resign Chandler, they’ll need all the front court help they can get and they should pursue Thomas so he can fill up some of the minutes. He fit in with the Bulls though, so why leave a good situation?
