"Mitch is doing just about everything I've asked of him....I need him to be dominant, but in the flow of the team, and he's doing that."-Don Nelson

"[Richmond was my] toughest matchup....one of the best players who ever guarded me..."-Michael Jordan

"[Hardaway has] made more big plays, taken over more games and led more runs than anybody we have...He won three games this year that we were out of. When the hour is bleakest, he saves the day. I think he's Mighty Mouse."-Don Nelson

"[Hardaway's crossover] can't be stopped...It's bang, bang, and you're dead."-Magic Johnson

Two thirds of the RUN-TMC trio, Richmond and Hardaway were certainly great players. But should they join their teammate Chris Mullin in the HOF?

I'm not sure on Mitch. He was good, but I am not sure about HOF good. Hardaway on the other hand carried some of those 1990s Heat teams that were damn good.

Mitch Richmond lacked team success. He should have demanded a trade in the mid 1990's.

Re: Hall of Famer? Part 8: Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway

It's a tough one, certainly not like Parker and Manu.

Mitch had to play behind Michael Jordan's shadow, so he was never really the best at his position, didn't really get a lot of MVP votes because he was on a bad team for the majority of his career. He did put up solid numbers though and his probability right now is pretty high (0.658 for 88).

Hardaway has a better shot, he was All-NBA one time and high highest in MVP voting was 4th. Though that doesn't make him a lock either. He also does have more team success along his side than Mitch does.

Toss up, really.

Aren't both of these players on the ballot this year?
