biggest overachieving and underachieving teams this year

going by these preseason power rankings:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2011/week/0

OVERachievers:
1. San Fransico 49ers
2. Cincinnati Bengals
3. Denver Broncos

UNDERachievers:
1. Philidelphia Eagles
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3. New York Jets

*Colts are excluded due to loss of Manning, and Chiefs for ridiculous amounts of injury

No one expected anything out of Dallas this year...power ranked at 16

they finished 8-8...they did exactly what everyone expected

Eagles underachieved, but Dallas does that yearly. Just find it funny you wont acknowledge it over some power rankings I havent even looked at nor will. So you admit Dallas fans have low standards and expectations? Nice.

Dallas did exactly what they were supposed to because after so many years of underachieving with great talent it has become the norm for them.. when you underachieve every season people will eventually start to account for it in their pre-season rankings.

I thought the Bucs overachieved last year so it wasn't surprising to see em struggle with tougher opponents.

So according to you, prime, the Cowboys didn't underachieve at all?

You expected them to be 8-8?

So if they underachieved to you, why didn't you list them?

You just didn't b/c of preseason power rankings (which are incredibly stupid, moreso than power rankings that go on during the season)?

Who cares about power rankings? You of course.

Dallas fans have to have low expecations and standards if you dont think the team underachieved. I bet Jerry Jones would say it. How long ago was it when you let everyone know how many pro bowlers were on Dallas? Oh ok. Remember when I told you Dallas wasnt that good this season and you argued otherwise? Ok ok part II.

Bad memory is what you have. But since you posted power rankings you'll use that and ignore everything else. Typical of you tho, I dont expect nothing less. Dallas cant be considered underachievers because power rankings doesnt support such a claim!

Re: biggest overachieving and underachieving teams this year

everyone thought Dallas would have a God awful defense...really didn't have anything to do with underachieving talent in the past

the secondary was expected to be garbage, which was right to some extent...and teams were supposed to be able to go nuts on them

Dallas' D did do better than expected at first...but toward the end of the year became what most thought they were...Ware, Sean Lee, and Ratliff are good...everyone else is average or below average
