We need a big badly.
Hopefully he can play for about 10-12 minutes. More would be even better.
Take up space, foul, and guard the low post.
He's taller than Ivan Johnson.

He looked finished last year. I'd be surprised if he was in any kind of playing shape.

If Dampier doesn't work out, then Solomon Jones can come back to Atlanta.

Also, Dan Gadzuric is out there. Don't know if he retired or not. He can at least foul people.

There are a handful of young athletic Centers out there that have been waived recently. I don't know how Dampier would be any better than them. A guy like Hamady N'Diaye comes to mind, he was really great in college, very smart player and legit 7'0" and is very well spoken for a foreign player.

I was about to say Solomon Jones is with the Clipps, but it looks like they've waived him with K-Mart coming in. Things are rough when you give Damp a 10 day contract over a D Leauge scrub.
