O'Neal also said Howard's situation is not like his was when he left for the Lakers in 1996, because he said he wanted to stay with the Magic but had a better option.

Shaq's situation was completely different. He was a free agent and played out his contract. Dwight forced his way out and made it a huge distraction his entire last season there with his public trade demands, asked for SVG to be fired and then agreed to that pointless 1 year option.
