I think Game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals against Portland was the defining moment of your career. What was going through your mind, down 15 in the fourth quarter?

We were like, ďNo, weíre not going out like this.Ē Steve Smith was out there celebrating way too early. But youíre right: That game could have broke me if we didnít win.

Not a Shaq fan, but he's right about Nash's two MVPs.

Nash deserved it in 2005 but definitely not '06. Kobe was averaging 35 PPG! :wtf: :facepalm

To be fair, pretty sure Fred Hickman was a raging cokehead at that point.

You're half right. Nash definitely didn't deserve the MVP in 2005 either.

His numbers:
15.5 ppg, 11.5 ass.

Do those look like MVP numbers to you? They were far and away the weakest in the modern era.

In 1984-85, Isiah averaqed 21.2 ppg & 13.9 assists. Why didn't he get the MVP?

And don't talk about how he was "responsible" for the Suns' turnaround. He was A factor, but that was a team that had been decimated by injury and dissension the year before, that was completely underperformed and was ready for a breakout season -- no matter who the point guard was.

The fact is it should have been like this:

2005 MVP: Shaq
2006 MVP: Kobe

Problem of awarding MVPs to undeserving players solved.

One of the biggest disgraces in NBA history are Nash back to back MVP's. Just some feel good narrative. Pathetic.

Kobe won 45 games in 06. The MVP is not generally handed out to players whose teams have those win totals. LeBron on 31/7/7 and 50 wins probably deserved it. Then there's Wade who threw up 27/6/7/49.5% and won 52 games. Dirk had a strong case as well.

And in 05, Shaq posted 23/11, while Wade had 24/5/7. That's a fairly 50/50 split. There were strong MVP candidates in 05, and they didn't include Nash, but Shaq wasn't the strongest of them.

I'm glad Shaq is the type of dude who will freely speak his mind, but c'mon, man. Don't disrespect a former teammate like that, big fella.
