Jamario Moon named D-League Player of Month for March

Los Angeles D-Fenders forward Jamario Moon was today named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in March. The honor is the first of Moonís career and the second for a D-Fender this season, with Brandon Costner earning the award for games played in November and December.

Moon (6-8, 215, Meredian Community College), led Los Angeles to an 8-1 record in March, helping the team to clinch the top spot in the Western Conference. During the month, he averaged 16.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 36.6 minutes. He was the teamís high scorer and rebounder twice last month, scoring in double figures in eight of nine games, including an NBA D-League season-high 26 points to go with 10 rebounds in a 117-89 win over the Reno Bighorns on March 28. For the month, he shot 52 percent from the floor, 37 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the line.

I had no idea he was in the d-league, let alone on the D-Fenders. Wasn't this guy a solid role player in the NBA at one point?

Yes he was. If I'm not mistaken, he was an integral part of Clevelands run to the Finals under Mike Brown. He could be a really solid backup to Kobe.

:oldlol: :oldlol: Don't get excited, Jimmy Buss doesn't look out of his office window too notice how good some D-League guys have become......LMAO if he goes to some other team ala Gerald Green and put up big numbers.
If you can't scout inside your own gym then you cannot scout worth a crap.

Moon played well for the Clips last season after the the Baron/Mo deal and I was hoping Clips would retain him. He was a guy I was hoping to be signed before Olshey got Simmons with Gomes' struggling, Luke Walton-esque play.

Maybe he's commanding more than we can offer too? Just a thought. He's definitely too young and good to be a vets minimum player.

He didn't get a contract offer due largely to the lockout.
Understand that a max D-League contract is only $25,000
Minimum NBA Contract is over a Million for a player with Moon's experience.
Get it?
