His career is over.

That's unfortunate, because now all he'll be remembered for is being the worst MVP in NBA history.

They should either sign Nash or tank for Nerlens Noel.

Perhaps a better comment would be " his career of being the most explosive PG in the league are over"

He will be back, no doubt about it, maybe with a tweak to his game here and there to account for the toll of this injury, but he is smart enough, passionate enough and good enough to still be an All NBA 1st team player when he returns..

Hope so.

I didn't realize he was going to be out next season. Just terrible.

They shouldn't have rushed him back. But alas, you never know when injuries can happen.

Tough break. Doctors say they are not worried about him still being a great athlete. 23 years old. Derrick Rose at 90% athletic ability is still on par with Rondo,Mike Conley... Thats still a borderline elite athlete at PG.

CJ watson definitely deserves to start and might be the cheapest solution. Its almost like a lost year with Chicago. Fortunate thing is their core guy soutside boozer are 26-28.

I don't look at it as bad because of the overall goal. Dr Cole on in the press conference yesterday specifically said the goal was to have Rose return 100% unchanged, and it would need time if this was to be achieved. So if it takes the entire season, so be it.

Disagree about CJ Watson being started. This postseason showed exactly why he DOESN'T need to start. His decision making has been horrid, and really exposed in the start position. He is much better off the Bench. IMO, Bulls need to go and resign Hinrich and bring him back home to chicago. Chemistry won't be an issue since the Bulls already know and love him, and since he was always a good defensive player, he'll easily fit into Thibs' system.

Ha! He won't be remembered as that because the leadership of other top players was in general poor and sometimes in the negative. And his dominance that year against the elite teams was very impressive despite the majority of the other top players playing with guy(s) that were among the best at their position and his newly formed team going thru crazy injuries and overcoming almost in proportion as those superteams underachieved. And all of that stuff was echoed hard the following year, especially, against the other MVP candidates that got first place votes.

No one knows what will happen next, I just hope the bulls give him all the time he needs to recover and that he isnt rushed.

Without Rose, they can still finish 2nd in the ECF

They'll still be a playoff team but next season for them will be interesting. Isn't Deng also going to have surgery? That could keep him out for a couple of months.
