Any Of You Guys Run Open Headers Before???
 

On my WRX I ran open downpipe for a month... and it was so loud it hurt my ears and made my car shake... literally if I drove next to a Harley I couldn't even hear the bike. My turbo spool was louder than the big turbo diesel trucks.

Now on my 91 Trans Am I'm considering open headers. Mainly because straight pipes= most efficient power and at that point I figure I may as well save cost of piping and run open headers (racing headers). I'm in California so it's highly illegal but I'm a safe driver and never race around so I'm sure they will leave me alone if I stay off the throttle.

Anybody here run open headers on any car before? Any differences in gas mileage or performance? I'm new to V8.
