Heat season begins vs Celtics
Miami's championship defense will begin where it won last season's title, and the first game for the Brooklyn Nets will be at home against their now-crosstown rival.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Heat will raise their title banner at home Oct. 30 against the Boston Celtics as part of an opening-night tripleheader, meaning Ray Allen's first game with Miami will come against his former club and in a rematch of last season's seven-game Eastern Conference finals.
Re: Heat season begins vs Celtics
The NBA schedule released Thursday night has the Heat playing four of its first five, and 14 of its first 22 games, at home, beginning with the Oct. 30 regular-season opener against Boston. The other home opponents during the first nine days of the season are Denver, Phoenix and Brooklyn, with the Heatís road opener scheduled for Nov. 2 at New York.
But Miami has a six-game road trip in November and will play 10 of 12 on the road from Jan. 8 to Feb. 3.
