John Stockton 1-15-91

This has to be one of the best games by a point guard.

Vs. David Robinson and the San Antonio Spurs.

20 Points
28 Assists
8 Steals

Miss watching this man run the floor.

That's a beastly stat line no doubt about it. It's amazing how underrated John Stockton has become...no I don't even think that's the right words. He's been underrated and under appreciated his entire career. You'd think the league leader in assist and steals all time would get more respect especially when those records are so far out of reach. He'd have the record for apg too if not for the fact that Magic basically retired when he was still playing near peak basketball and Stockton played till he was 40. Even then Magic holds the record for career apg over Stockton barely with 11.19 to 10.51.

Not to mention the fact Stock should have been starting from day 1 with the Jazz which hurt his numbers as well.

Stockton is one of the most underrated players ever in my opinion. There was a thread today about isaiah Thomas being on the dream team and people were saying it would have been a big upgrade over Stockton.

a John Stockton thread? you don't this every day.

If only Stockton would have won a ring, he would get the appreciation he deserves.

Re: John Stockton 1-15-91

Stockton was a GOAT pass-first PG (aka pure PG), but due to lack of rings he doesnt get the credit he deserves. :(

Down 2 with with seconds remaining and this ***** decides to pullup for 3 with double coverage (one was jordan). Always thought that was a horrible play/decision. He does deserve credit some people don't even have him as a top 5 pg

This was the vintage John Stockton game. Jazz down 2 - 1 in the series. And Stockton basically took over end of game to get the win. The steal on Jordan, 3 point shot, pass to Malone......vintage.

His 2nd and 3rd year...he was coming off the bench, and was still ranked in the top 10 in assists

Stockton apprenticing behind Pierce..and sitting and learning helped his development...

Payton sat and learned also, and it definitely helped his overall development

it was a man's league in earlier era....and you couldn't throw a young pg to the wolves except for rare instances..

He is underrated because he is white.

Isiah is better than Stockton, LOL what is next, John Wall is greater than Michael Jordan?
