Kobe fans (and haters). #8 or #24?

Which was the better Kobe era?
Whether it's through play, accolades, achievements or whatever? Both are legendary imo.

#8 was HUGE part on a 3 peat and best playoff record. Multiple 40+ point 10+ rebound games, numerous big key clutch shots, 81 points, 62 in 3 quarters, 12 3 pointers in one game, multiple 40, 50, 60 point games etc?

#24 was a bit more polished of a player. Displayed incredible footwork and post game, a better "teammate", won his long overdue MVP award, 2 FMVPs to go along with 2 more rings, MSG scoring record etc, 2 olympic gold medals etc.?

I hate choosing, but i think i gotta go with number 8. Lakers should retire both tbh

I think they retire both, but it should be 24. I think Kobe would want it to be that way also. 2x Finals MVPs and his first MVP.

All multiples of 8 should be retired from the entire NBA.

It really comes down to his 06 vs 08 season to me, because those two years represent the best of Kobe from the two portions of his career.

Tough question.

His best season happened under 24(2007-08) IMO, but I always seem in as number 8.

#8 was the young Kobe and #24 was the new, MVP Kobe. So I'll choose #24

I hope they retire both. One represented a young athletic Kobe. The other represented the Kobe who had a better understanding of the game.

#24 by far, one MVP, two FMVP, two Championships, all 1st all-nba & 1st all-defensive teams.

Both should be retired and both were equally great.
