Tebow at RB is an outstanding idea for short yardage for 2nd and inches or 3rd and shorts. It has been used before but with the spread option and Tebow simply just ran his behomoth body through for a couple of hard earned yards.

Not to mention it opens up play action in a variety of different ways. Tebow is an outstanding blocker and a lot of coaches would fall for play action with Tebow (especially in short yardarge situations where we normally throw it)

Using Tebow create a more effective play option may normally be a clever idea but with the Jet receivers they'd be better off letting Tebow get that short yardage. But there is a difference between a runningback and a running QB. We've seen Tebow shed lighter tacklers but we've never seen him try and bust through 300+ lbs. defensive linemen like a true RB has to. He has the FB's attributes for the short gains but he's not an explosive runner so a hole that a normal runner may exploit for 5 yards he may only get 3 or 4.

Ryan is trying to find a way to inject Tebow's fire into the team and so far has only thrown him in for gimmick plays, fake punts and wildcrap offense. NY is only going to get the Tebow momentum (assuming it still exists) if they boot Sanchez and give Tebow his job.

A fair point but there's still no reason to telegraph that plan, and predicting the W over his "rival" Belichick is same old Rex.

I saw ULM use two QBs on the field at the same time vs Baylor this year.

I'm actually kind of surprised it hasn't been tried more at the college level.

First off Kentam I suggested that SF did the two QB thing two weeks ago. BITER!

Secondly. They considered converting Steve Young to a RB. Then he went on to be one of the greatest.

Time Tebow..... will not do that actually. I just like talking about Steve Young.

Shit talking aside, I don't really see the problem. McKnight and Powell are probably out, so he's saying it's possible that Tebow could play RB. Not really a big deal :confusedshrug:

There is a big difference between a running QB and a running back. He won't be an effective RB. Jets talk so much shit, people playing out of positions, etc. If Tebow being the RB is what is going to propel them, they might as well not show up because it's not going anywhere.

Again, their second and third string running backs are out. This isn't Rex talking shit, this is him considering Tebow at RB because of how thin they will be at that position with McKnight and Powell out. He didn't say anything about Tebow "propelling them".

Yes, Tebow may play running back and in preseason he was anchoring the super secret wildcat and in previous weeks we discussed Cromartie is going to play receiver and McKnight corner back. All of this is stupid and idle chatter. Tebow is not a running back. If the Giants were thin at running back we wouldn't be running a defensive guy out there, we'd go get one off the practice squad. Or go sign one. Because it's what normal teams do who don't want a byline.

This is all just chatter, it's meaningless for the game. Tebow's not going to be playing RB - maybe more wildcat but that's it. It's just Rex feeling the need to make proclamations.

Note: I by no means think Rex is a bad coach (he's a good coach) nor do i count the Jets out of this game (why not?), but when he makes his weekly LOOK AT ME statement, why do people listen?

Last time I checked we do run wildcat, we do play cro at the WR, and McKnight is a CB at times

And Rex learned his lesson last year when he tried playing a 4th stringer RB in the game and gained nothing on 5 or 6 attempts in a loss decided by 3 plays

I see nothing wrong with this at all
