Byron Scott still searching for his starting lineup

Rookies Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller moved into the Cavaliers starting lineup on Tuesday night against Indiana at The Q, joining Kyrie Irving, Alonzo Gee and Anderson Varejao, who moves to power forward.

Cavs coach Byron Scott is still searching for a starting lineup and opted to take a look at this bigger group against the big Pacers. The move leaves rookie center Zeller paired up against All-Star Roy Hibbert.

Scott said regardless of Tuesday's outcome, he still is undecided on his starters. He could retain this group, return to the group that included C.J. Miles instead of Gee and Tristan Thompson instead of Zeller, with Thompson at power forward and Varejao at center. Or he could use another group altogether.

Re: Byron Scott still searching for his starting lineup

kyrie / sloan
miles / waiters
gee / casspi
thompson / leuer
varejao / zeller

id like to see waiters off the bench, so he doesnt have to worry about sharing the ball, and the offense can run through him

zeller should get good minutes, since thompson and andy can both play ether big man spot, and zeller provides some front court shooting, that we lacked last year.

hopefully kyrie and thompson can develop more chemistry, with more time together this year.

Who you think our last two cuts will be? Kevin Jones and someone?

Re: Byron Scott still searching for his starting lineup

i read that scott often keeps 3 pgs on his roster, and some quotes from him recently indicated that he leaning that way again.

so if i had to guess, id say we cut jones and michael eric

id like to see him cut pargo and jones.

i just have a hard time seeing pargo becoming a valuable player. jones and eric have more potential imo (from admittedly very limited viewing)

so scott announced the starting 5, gee and waiters are gonna start

irving
waiters
gee
thompson
varejao

i was hoping miles would start ahead of waiters, but not really a big deal.

I thought Sloan looked as good as any backup PG.
