Lakers need energy guy
D'Antoni continues to state that we need to play with more energy on both ends of the floor. On most teams that means having that one energy/hustle guy that leads the team in terms of setting the tone for playing with high energy and high intensity.
Who is a guy we could add to this team to provide that energy spark for us? Some names. Chris Douglass-Roberts Kenyon Martin Delonte West Chris Anderson |
Re: Lakers need energy guy
We dont need to add.
Jordan Hill has been our man that got the crowd pumped, and now D'Antoni for whatever reason refuses to play him. This is on coach and management for not stepping in. |

Mike Taylor.

I think Kobe does a pretty good job with energy, well crowd wise. Metta also does a pretty good job too.

Yeah......'Antoni is pulling a Mike Brown by not playing Hill.....this is NOT helping the team. I'm far less impressed than I thought I would be.....and that's saying a lot. |
Re: Lakers need energy guy
I agree with DKLaker and lakerfreak. This coach has arguably the most talented team in the league. If his ego is so big that he won't adjust his great system, it's his fault things aren't working. His great system has has a ton of talent on other teams and never won him a championship. You would think all these years later (and especially after what happened in NY) he would've figured out that you need to work to your players strengths. It's on 'antoni to make the necessary changes. The roster is just fine.

Re: Lakers need energy guy
Absolutely. Winning isn't just about players sacrificing to what the coach has done, but the coach also must sacrifice to adjust to what the players can do. It goes both ways. Phil Jackson would ask the players that were underperforming to do the simplest tasks. For example, Kwame Brown was doing poorly because of these unrealistic 14/9 expectations everyone wanted him to do.
Phil Jackson spoke with Kwame and told him "just play defense and get rebounds...everything else will fall into place". Kwame after that averaged 15/10 for the second half of the season, and was a crucial piece in nearly upsetting the phoenix suns in their prime. |
Re: Lakers need energy guy
Relax fella's Lakers have the pieces already it's just not placed in its perspective positions and we don't need an einstein to figure it out. Coz if you look up the word energetic in the dictionary you'll see Jordan Hill's pic next to it. If the Ant' man:banghead: can't properly utilize the pieces that's right under his nose then he gotta go as well nuff said!
