We must trade Pau Gasol now!!!

We have to trade him and get value for him right now. He just does not fit in with the personnel we have right now. If we can get Gallinari or Derrick Williams as the main piece for him, I say pull the trigger on that deal.

Yeah, you are right only because he has lost interest and is aging fast.
That being said, are we really going to try to build around 'Antoni's offense????
I mean if we are we may as well trade Howard too since he isn't being used properly. 'Antoni would probable love to run with nothing bigger than a SF on the floor :facepalm :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
This guy is going to get fired anyway so we need to just dump him now.....who knows.....maybe Pau would play better with a coach who has the brains to know how to use him......hard to tell with the losers we have had lately.

Far to inconsistent offensively (not enough posting ). Defensive liability (Guarding 4s) I'm running out of patience with Gasol myself.

At this point in his career Pau is a center. He doesn't mesh well with Howard it's time....

It really is sad watching how Pau is being used.

Nash
Kobe
Ebanks(yes ebanks)
Hill
Howard

Might have to be the starting lineup, I know devin isn't everyones favorite player but he brings effort and energy on both ends (inconsistent on offense I know)

Gasol is a 5 and needs to come off the bench if he isn't traded. Manage the minutes with the second unit with different players being used at different positions.

Ultimately it's this offense.

I hate to say it bro but the lakers already payed for MB and now MA. To save money, they may need to look at doing this the D'Antoni way. Pau would definitely be the first one to go if they were going to rebuild this roster.

Kobe had some comments "We're playing old..."

In the past when Kobe said something, he's always had some motive behind it. Don't forget the playoffs when they were crappy, and they played a great suns team. Kobe said "They're a more talented team". Few days later after elimination he demanded a trade. Don't forget when he said he was "closer to being a bull than most people think", he demanded a trade in that same sequence to the bulls.

He said now that they're too old, and now he wants a younger team around him. He might even bring the spurs into it as those 3 guys have had younger players around them and its helped the spurs keep their core. Don't be surprised.

Im not in any way disagreeing with you about how MA was a bad hire. Now that this is over with, they'll build around Kobe and Nash, in hopes of winning a championship with D'Antoni. Think about it. Dwight is the youngest starter on our team. He doesn't want Dwight to go. He doesn't want Nash to go either. Who's the odd man out here? Is it Ron Artest who is having his best season as a laker? Or is it the disappointing Pau Gasol?

Think now, with this information, of what the lakers will be looking to do in the next few weeks.

its easy...put pau in the post ...and be howard a guy who plays defense...rebounds...blocks shots.....just like Phil had bynum play when they went on 17-1 in phil's last year and bynum was averaging monster numbers

dwight has ZERO post moves...he shouldnt be in post...but offcourse they want to sign him in the offseason so this dummy is in the post instead of Pau

They won't trade Pau because,
He's playing better than Howard,
Howard isn't even a lock to be a Laker next season
Kobe has Pau's back, these two are thick as thieves along with Artest. They've been through the wars together and these are the ones Kobe has faith in.

The only reason Nash is here is because he demanded a gurantee Pau was on the roster before he signed with the Lakers.

I'd say that's plausible, wish we could tell Pringles that.

Re: We must trade Pau Gasol now!!!

Does ANYONE really think trading Pau for any player is going to make us a championship contender???? :confusedshrug:

Right now.....we have more talent top to bottom than Phil Jackson EVER HAD......and we struggle to beat crappy teams.....in fact lose to them too.
It's not the players, it's the coach with the awful no post system and no defense.
Even if you let 'Antoni have his pick of the top 10 players in the league he couldn't win a title with his style of play.

The way I see it is that sure, we are paying MB and MA a total of $8 million and to now bring in Phil would cost $8 to 10 million....so lets say we pay $18 million for coaches......it's less than we are paying Pau to do nothing and it doesn't count against the salary cap so......Phil + MB +MA = 18mil, Pau + cap hit = $38 mil......I don't see how this money should stop us from getting Phil....maybe we have to dump a little salary like Blake and others but the ONLY way to fix things is to start at the top........also we are an injury away from being a lottery team at this point meaning no playoff money.....Phil can get us to the Finals with this roster.......the difference would pay his salary.
