John Wall should be back soon for Wizards
Washington guard John Wall could make his long-awaited season debut Saturday against Atlanta after rehabbing his injured left knee since late September, The Associated Press reports. Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said on his blog Tuesday that "it is possible but not quite certain, for the first time all season, that we could dress all of our players" for the home matchup against the Hawks. Wall has been recovering from a stress injury to his left knee cap and recently returned to practice. The former No. 1 overall pick has been one of several players missing significant time for the Wizards, who dressed only nine for Monday's win over Oklahoma City.
Analysis: After sitting idle for a couple months following the initial announcement of his injury, Wall has seemingly progressed rapidly over the past few weeks and appears primed to return to game action. Wall, who played in every game last season, has been working out with the team before the past three games and moved around without any reported issues. Saturday would mark nearly one month after he was permitted to increase basketball-related activities following a visit with an orthopedist, The Washington Post notes. Fantasy owners should monitor Wall's status closely as his return will serve as a tremendous boost in the middle of the season.
