How dumb can this guy be? |
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
Saying it out loud was foolish but homophobia is very much alive in sports. There's never been an openly gay player in the NBA, MLB, NFL, or NHL. There's a reason for that, and it's not that no gay man has ever been a good athlete.

Does he realize he plays in San Francisco?

Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
What a ****ing a-hole. I liked him as a player but now he can go **** himself. Also the way he said it :facepalm Just say something like I'm not comfortable with gay players in the locker room or something.
WTF have 49ers become. The stupid Keapernicking thing, Crabtree will become even a ****ing bigger diva, culliver, dashon always making stupid plays and so on. I love winning but I love winning with class. |

Don't forget about Randy Moss claiming he's the GOAT WR of all time ahead of our very own Jerry Rice... Way to just shit on the GOAT player for the franchise(Rice, Montana it's a tossup really) I don't think it's going to have any affect but it does seem like bad timing, can't these guys wait one week? As for Crabtree he's a straight up idiot. He basically called Alex Smith shit the other day and blaming his past QB's for his lack of success in the past despite him constantly doing the following: Holding out of a contract rookie year, getting hurt, being overweight, bad hands, diva syndrome, lack of separation, etc. But that's just the niners style though. |

Obviously homophobia is alive in sports but it's one of those taboo topics you don't talk about and if asked about just lie. His comment is so illogical as it's going to attract so much hate and bad press for him and the team. |
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
reading shit like this makes me love chris kluwe so much more (no homo)
edit: haha, just checked out chris kluwes twitter, noticed these posts from a few hours ago- "The proper response to @Cullyinthehouse isn't to mock him for insecurity over gay rights, but to mock him for buying fake Twitter followers." "I mean, seriously, how depressed with your life are you that you have to do that? #madswagyo" "Do you think fake twitter account companies have a stock set of like a million images they randomly paste in as profile pics?" chris culliver has 1 million twitter followers, btw :oldlol: |

There has been and likely are plenty of them. People have this warped misconception that all gay people fit the limp wristed, excessive feminine qualities stereotype and it's so hilariously inaccurate. |
Re: 49ers CB Chris Culliver says gay players not welcom
There are gay players on every NFL team.

have you ever been in a high school locker room?...it's not a place any gay person would want to be...at all there is one NFL player that came out after retirement and he said in order o get by he had to say "f@g" on a regular basis and he also said he was suicidal for the majority of his NFL career...he also said that he thought his own teammates would have injured him in practice had they known he was gay... I find it extremely difficult to believe that it is common for gays to make it all the way through high school and college football without quitting over the extreme bigotry that goes on... what Chris Culliver said represents the majority of the NFL |

I'm sure there are gays all over the NFL, or at least bi. It's statistically improbable that they are not. They just keep it to themselves. You think young men playing football and getting tons of adulation, the chance at a scholarship, the chance at the NFL quit because of some secret shame? Rather than just hide it and continue on? |

Moss's comments were so stupid. One - he never engages the media and all of a sudden he's going to talk and say this? And two, he said exactly in his comments why he is not the GOAT, he basically dismissed all the times he underachieved. He doesn't get it, having his talent and not maximizing it is exactly why he is NOT the best ever. CC made an interesting comment about Moss being misunderstood, CC said he's understood just fine, the reporters see of Moss 100% what he wants them to see. It's hard to claim you are misunderstood when you act a certain way on purpose to drive reporters away. |

Just read what the gay Vikes player had to say about it, he was suicidal, he said it was complete hell. obviously the % of gay people in the NFL would be much lower than the % in the real world...same with the army, or anywhere else where the majority involved don't welcome gays... |

In today's era I don't think gay players woud be crucifyed compared to 20-30years ago. Even NFL players are becoming a bit more progressive, just look at all the modeling ads and other fashion advertising players do nowadays. I think it all depends on the team though. A gay player on the raiders would most likely get hazed but on the Patriots(or any veteran team) most players would turn a blind eye. Depends if teams have ghetto thugs like Chris Culliver. |
