Prince..

Now that Prince has departed, where does he rank among the all-time Piston greats?

#5 games played
#5 three point field goals
#7 blocks
#8 points
#10 rebounds
#10 assists

If it was me? He would be in our all-time 12 man rotation towards the end of the bench...

Thanks for the great service and loyalty :applause:

My three favorite players are Grant Hill, Richard Hamilton, and Tayshaun Prince. I wish the Pistons would offer them and Chauncey each a 1-day contract when it's time for them to retire like in other sports from time to time.

I'm going to miss Tayshaun, but look forward to what the future brings and hopefully I can find a new favorite player. Maybe that guy will be Drummond? I just find myself enjoying wings more than posts.

I think a top 12 debate could be made. It would be right on the edge of that. Grant Hill was by far a better SF in his prime. He was absolutely amazing before that injury. I agree Kombo, Drummond does seem like he's going to be really fun to watch. I just wish he could get a few more minutes. He's been producing. I want to see more. I have a feeling we'll be getting someone pretty good soon too. That person could be here for a while so it could be we all have a few new favorite Pistons by this time next year. I feel like next year is the year we have a winning team again. Joe D needs to be smart with this cap space. Without winning the fans have been fairweather and aren't supporting the team. That means they aren't making the money they want to. I think that will motivate them to make some good moves.

Am i the only one that thinks we should have got more than just Calderon for Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye? I mean just Prince himself is more valuable than Calderon imo

They could've got more for sure. I think the whole idea was to not take on any salary, and actually dump more so there's more cap space. I could see Detroit going after a guy like Andre Igoudala. Possibly Tyreke Evans. I just think there's more we could do having the cap space rather than trying to get a decent player back and take on salary. Calderon is a good PG anyhow. I think people aren't giving him enough credit. Although I will say he isn't the PG of the future here as some people think. That's still Knight.

yea that makes sense. I would rather have Tyreke Evans over Iguodala if we do go after 1 of those 2 guys

Iggy is the better player, it's not even close. To me it just depends on money. I would mind going after a guy like J.R. Smith either. Not that it would probably go through, but if Detroit has all that money and doesn't make offer to CP3 for the max, they aren't doing their jobs.

What about Tyreke`s potential? you think he can improve some aspects of his game that would make him better than Iguodala? Hes still pretty young while Iguodala probably reached his peak

Defensively I don't think he'll ever be better. Offensively they do different things kind of. Tyreke could be the better offensive player, maybe in the future.

I want to avoid Evans, or any player who doesn't have a designated position. I have learnt this through Stuckey, who I thought would be a border line all-star, but lack of tru position significantly decreases the potential / worth of a player. Evans to me is lost, he needs to find his role in this league...

As for fan favorites, I have been loving what Singler has brought to our team. Hard nosed, hustle, blue collar style of play. Love it...

And as for Prince - the only person I would have in front of him on the all-time depth chart is Hill. Williamson was a bench specialist, but would prefer Prince...

In my opinion, I would love Gallinari and Eric Gordon to fill our 2 and 3 spots... Will never happen though..

Eric Gordon is too small and injury prone. I know he can really light it up. I just am completely against starting SG's that are 6'3". I think it just leaves too many holes on the defensive side of the ball, unless you have a tall PG (which we don't). There's no way the Hornets let him walk anyway.
