Re: Blow it up thread....

No need to really blow it up. Most of these guys are on one year deals. Grunwald screwed us by giving Kidd and Camby those deals. I hope they both find it in their hearts to retire. Can't imagine a scenario in which either player would be tradeable.

Re: Blow it up thread....

Kidd and Camby only hurt Dolans pockets, no cap space was used, only exceptions, which are the same the team can use every single year.

First round knockout? Gut it, everyone goes.

 Don't make a gringo post please, after your rotation give some clues how you would gut this team:basketball

Re: Blow it up thread....

Firstly realize the team only has three assets as far as players go....

Melo would be dealt in a similar fashion as he was to us..... 2 decent starters and a first round pick would be the minimum return.

Shump and an older guy would be packaged foe a two way rotation player.

Tyson will be packaged with old head as well for bench depth.

I'm buying out Amare, thanks for 50 games.

Re: Blow it up thread....

What good could buying amare out be? Then it's having that amount of salary go away with no way to replace it

Shumpert, Felton, chandler, white
For
Dragic, gortat, frye, Shannon brown

Suns save 5 mill and have room for a max contract
Dragic/Kidd
Jr smith/brown
Carmelo/Novak
Amare/frye
Gortat/Camby

Obviously the only way for a real blow up is to turn amare into multiple pieces- Knicks would prob have to take on as much salary as possible to please teams enough

So then you need a pf- Ryan Anderson or Bargnani. You are building around Carmelo- that means Carmelo at 3 and a 4 like this. Anderson's value is higher but there's no way they could use amare or do they have the contracts to trade. If amare can come back by playoffs though it could make him an option for Toronto if ny takes kleiza and Landry fields in addition to Bargnani

Dragic/Kidd
Jr/brown/fields
Carmelo/Novak/kleiza
Bargnani/frye
Gortat/Camby

Then to make it perfect you have to help those 2 teams out even more financially and get 1 more team in to balance out the roster. (Pistons and Jerebko/Villenueva/stuckey could be another team) the hornets work perfect

Ryan Anderson and Jason smith. 2 players that fit perfect and balance out the roster- any chance you could get those 2 with Camby, Amir Johnson and Beasley? The suns could open up a lot more space without those 2. All these trades for the suns might look off until you add in the players they could get in free agency.

Hornets get Beasley, Amir Johnson, Camby

Suns get shumpert, chandler, Felton, James white, l fields

Raptors get amare, j Dudley, k Marshall

Knicks get dragic, gortat, frye, brown, Bargnani, kleiza, Anderson, smith.

That's right throw a whole new squad out there with Carmelo, jr, Kidd, and Novak. (Novak and Kidd are just negative trade value but fit with Carmelo)

Dragic/Kidd
Jr/brown
Carmelo/Novak/kleiza
Bargnani/Anderson/frye
Gortat/smith

Then you have 22 mill in expirers (gortat, kleiza, brown, smith). Easily be able to bring back gortat and smith for much less. and the goal would be the same as now- coming up w young pg and c without much to give.

Lets say a perfect draft you end up with Steven Adams 7 foot New Zealand center out of Pitt and Norman Powell elite athlete 6-4 nba pg in training

Dragic/Kidd/Powell
Jr/brown
Carmelo/Novak/kleiza
Bargnani/Anderson/frye
Gortat/smith/Adams

And the coach? That's easy, anybody (including Phil Jackson) would jump at the chance to coach that team. Hire Phil or coach k. They both want to coach that perfectly built of a team.

We can retool in a year and half. Trading low on everyone as a reactionary move is stupid and to be honest ,is a very knick like things to do.

People need to chill. Knick fans are embarassing at times, we have a top 5 player, a solid place in the pack in the East, and if we get healthy a chance to make noise. So let's **** it all up with a month left in the season.

Re: Blow it up thread....

My theory is only based off of a first round KO.

That is not my goal if we made it to the second round.

Re: Blow it up thread....

The Knicks don't have a top 5 player.

You missed it. You arent around enough to get it. This isnt a reaction by everyone but its a place for guys to rant and be creative about what are some of the options they would like to see.

If we don't get out of the 1st round I'm all for blowing it up.

Of course the coaching staff need to go along with the players.

Re: Blow it up thread....

Haha to the idea of private messages to make yourself feel better

The idea of "if Knicks make it past 1st round". If you think that- you are retarded- why not want a real winner?

Reality is that for a team with a huge payroll and no limit for money................. Jr smith at 3 million is the 2nd best player. Blame Carmelo for that. (Or should you thank him that jr, Camby, Kmart want to play with him for so e strange reason.).

I'm not ever going to say that Carmelo is Lebron. But he is special and the type you should build around. Lebron you can throw anybody out there- Carmelo has certain talents, why not try building around that?

Scoooter 03-15-2013 02:47 AM

Re: Blow it up thread....

Because you'll never win a championship building around him. I say you dupe some other team into to parting with some young goodness.

franchize 03-15-2013 07:33 AM

Re: Blow it up thread....

People kill me with this "you'll nevr win a ring with him." Like he's the worse player alive lol. If you can win a ring with Luke Walton, you can win with Carmelo Anthony. Knock it off. They used to say the same thing about Dirk and KG. In fact, the media will never admit it, but they used to say the same thign about Jordan before he got Pippen.
