“All you players today if Kareem was playing today he will rule the day” — Pat Riley

:applause: No question he would be the best player today.

71-72: 35ppg / 17rbs / 5ast FG% 58

Prime Kareem would easily be the best player today. Who could stop him?

Meh, if you are just gonna pick and choose one GOAT center and stick him in this weak big man era, we can do that for a number of them...

Prime Hakeem today, who'd stop him?!?!
or
Prime Wilt today, who'd stop him...
or
Prime Shaq blablabla...
or
Prime DRobinson, KG, Patrick Ewing, Moses Malone, TimmyD, Bill Walton etc etc...my point is, I'm not taking away from KAJ anything but it's a perimeter game today, it started in 2004 and it coincides with a lack of talent in the C position in today's NBA. Saying KAJ would kill in today's NBA, while that may be true because after all, who would stop him, you can also say that about a number of great centers from the past and the results would be the same...

Kareem would own in any era though not just this one.

There are more than a few players out there who would own in any era. Shaq would be a monster in any era for example.

Do you think prime KAJ would be considered the best player in ANY era? You think he'd own prime Shaq, Wilt, Hakeem etc? I'm not so sure and hear me out...KAJ was a beast in his prime but he only won 2, maybe 3 chips as the featured number one player. No way you convince me he was the number 1 option in the Showtime Lakers later chips. So that's 3 rings as the main go to guy; what makes him so much better than say prime Hakeem, who won two with much less help? Stats? Wilt owns that. Chips? Russell has that...I'm not dissing KAJ here but a lot of his legacy is based on how long he played, nothing wrong with that but there are other centers who's peak were on par with KAJ's, that's all.

Who would be considered the best to you if all those players you just mentioned were in their prime and playing today ?

That's my point, I have no idea...think about a prime Shaq vs KAJ match up, KAJ had a number of moves he could use against Shaq and he was taller and longer and had that unstoppable hook. But how is KAJ gonna keep Shaq who was 100 lbs heavier away from the low block and not get dunked on all game long?
