A good documentary for those who fear North Korea

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAG9kvep67E

They can't even get basic electricity to power their biggest luxury hotel they use to try to impress foreign tourists. This country is not capable of feeding it's civilians and providing electricity to it's capitol city. Their best hospital doesn't even have working electricity.

Only a fool would fear a nuclear attack from North Korea.

It's really sad though, some nation needs to go in there and liberate these people. Not US though, we get enough blame for this kind of thing. France or Germany or UK or someone should go in and do some good for once, show some initiative.

the only thing to fear from north korea is them selling nuclear weapons to terrorists or starting a conventional war with south korea, which would draw us in.

I agree. Taking their threats seriously is hilarious. It's all a ploy for resources. They're a hell of a lot smarter than people here think.

LOL one of my friends went on this trip (cause the BBC guy was going undercover as part of a tourist group). Got loads of pics of North Korea, and there was no hot water at all and electricity would regularly disappear.

its true, they are a joke and I have posted similar opinions in most NK threads.

where the threat becomes really laughable is when you get down to the logistics of war, gasoline, food etc...they simply cannot supply the daily basics for their war machine.

regarding their nukes, I have yet to see a test of theirs go swimmingly and their equipment reeks of Commodore 64.

they are a f*cking joke who will be reunited (read: swallowed up) by the South in the next decade when the house of cards finally comes crashing down.

NK is a joke. Lame threats trying to extort more aid from UN and get the sanctions lifted.

fake everything rofl.. Wow, what a joke. It really hurts to see the people suffering. This is worse than any Stalin-USSR or Vietnam. These guys have no resources so they can't expect anyone to come to their rescue. It kind of wants me to hope they get very aggressive that it forces all other nations to put them out of their misery by taking out their military. At least it might save the people in the long run..

If they were smart they would try and join the rest of society and stop acting like babies. They've been threatening the region and the US for the past couple of months and it hasn't worked. Even China are backing away from their partnership. Being deceptive isn't smart if it doesn't work.

Wow you guys are don't know sh*t about NK. So your assessment is from a highly controlled documentary? Get the f*ck out of here.

At least I don't take some bullsh*t documentary that shows absolutely nothing about NK's military and then prematurely conclude they are a "joke." That documentary reveals nothing about the military and yet you guys are talking about their military. That's like me watching the food network about China and then concluding their military is sh*tty because their food looks sh*tty. Please.

Re: A good documentary for those who fear North Korea

Study their military might; you will be surprise what they are capable of.

Oh btw, the reason why their economy is sh*tty is because of sanctions; it has absolutely nothing to do with their "leader being a d*ck and starving their people."

Do your research and stop encouraging childish premature insights that relies on sound bites played over the media as your only source of info.

same thing though. they're isolated from the international system because for 50-odd years they've been lead by a stubborn family of reckless autocrats who clearly care more about their own internal power games than they do about the wellbeing of their people. course you can at least commend em a little bit for resisting american/euro hegemony and all that. not an easy accomplishment and there aren't really many options for going about it; they happened to pick the worst one and they've got nothing in the way of natural resources to fall back on, so it's really going poorly for them

long story short, their leader is being a d*ck and starving their people

as for their military might, i just listened to a Common Sense w/ Dan Carlin ep on NK today, all about their military might and blustering. he breaks it down pretty well overall i think, but his major point is their war capacity like jizzo said is ridiculously limited. they look good on paper with a large air force, thousands of tanks, conscription, etc. but on the other hand, they tech is ancient, they're soldiers can hardly be expected to remain loyal, they have no fuel, etc etc etc

its all posturing. and the most annoying part of it is it fits both sides agendas so damn well... NK gets to pretend they can compete with "THE ENEMY" on the international stage, America gets to pretend they actually have an enemy worth competing with, and the stronger NK looks, the stronger US gets to look. meanwhile even respectable networks like CBC up here was updating the country every hour on "important developments" without even a hint of incredulity. ugh
