His record as a GM is much better than BC's, so I like it.

His record includes:
Getting the max return for Melo
Acquiring Iggy for spare parts
Extending Lawson
Trading an often injured Nene for McGee (I guess he lost this trade, but regardless Nene is very injury prone)

All of which I think are very good moves. I believe that if Gallinari didn't get injured than the Warriors wouldn't have been able to make it past the Nuggets.

Ujiri currently makes under 1 million with the Nuggets and reportedly MLSE is prepared to offer Ujiri in the neighbourhood of 3 million.

Didn't he also sign McGee to that awful extension? Terrible move for a player that only gives you ~20 minutes per game.

Ujiri will take the next couple days to fully consider the move, but significant momentum has gathered that likely will lead to Ujiri's departure from the franchise that he completely remade into a Western Conference contender, sources told Y! Sports.

The Nene for McGee trade was highly questionable.

That being said, all his other moves have been solid, especially the stealing of Faried in the draft.

This seems to be just a formality. I think this will become official tomorrow or Tuesday.

He can't be worse than BC, right?

The Raptors management might get a chance to interview and hire someone of the likes RC Buford or Pat Riley and some are still going to bring this question up... and with more Raptor fans nitpicking any dirty spot of an otherwise nice painting.

If he gets hired, he will do a better job than BC and the worst of the worst in Rob Babcock.

I wouldnt classify Denver as a western powerhouse.

I mean think Ujiri has done a good job I guess. He was probably at least partially involved in moving Melo, and was involved moving Nene.

He kept his team competative through those moves which in point is much better than : Babcock when Vince left and Colangelo when Bosh left.

He would seem to have a similar nucleus here to what he made in Denver is you assume Ike = Gay etc.

So yet another "single savior that will turn around the disfucntional sports units of MLSE and there ridiculous board politics and byzantine corporate structure".

I will certainly give him the benefit of the doubt.

It has been reported that Ujiri is the lowest-salaried GM in the NBA, earning about $500,000 a year, or half of the league’s average. According to NBA sources the Raptors have offered Ujiri a four-year deal worth about $9 million.

Am I the only one who hopes Masai stays in Denver so we can land Pritchard instead?

I'd be more than happy with either one. Though Masai might have a bit of an advantage as he was here fairly recently and he know a bit of the organization already.

This is truth:

RT @cathalkelly Ujiri's proved his negotiating bonafides already. If Raptors don't get him, how does MLSE sell anyone else as a win? Can't.
