Offseason competition watch: Bucks

I know I am on record here as predicting Il Mago (Bargnani) to the Bucks but what an interesting off season this team will have.

Brandon Jennings is a restricted free agent, J.J. Redick is an unrestricted free agent and Monta Ellis can opt out of the final year of his contract this summer.

Big men left under contract Ilyasov, Drew Gooden, Mbah a Mote.

New coach.

All this and cap space.

This could be a team that takes a step up and real good or could equally take a major step backward.

Much better position than the raptors, they should take a step back (not really much of a step, they are the best of the crap in the east) and tank for wiggins.

Although they hit the Heat wall... I give them credit for making the playoffs with all the uncertainty.

They can always sign back Dalembert to a new deal at less money as a "temporary" solution.

But I think "think" the Bucks have enough of a nucleus to really make the right run up the food chain. Assuming they use Monta "player option year" contract they could actually us that to add 2 impact players if they think it will make them take a step. Demarcus Cousins and a FA (say from Atlanta) ??

Or they could add Bargnani and wait for next years draft and hope indeed to trade into Wiggens or their other preferred player as its a deep draft.

Free agent guard O.J. Mayo is closing in on a multiyear contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

So : Monta / Dunleavy / Redick gone

No news on big men

Oj Mayo in

I assume this classifys as a step backawards.
