Can't get the article but he wanted to do a between the legs dunk at 11.5 feet and a 360 dunk at 12 feet.. but the NBA declinded his request. That sucks.

Apparently it is possible, but they just won't do it because they want things to be equal and it's not fair to the other players, LOL.

For the record, Nate wanted it raised too. Maybe not that high, but higher than 10'. So whatever.

That sucks. It would have been crazy to see if he could do a 360 on a 12 foot rim.

I guess the NBA doesn't want to open a can of worms, where they're stuck raising and lowering the rim throughout the contest for different players. It would be easy enough to stick the basket at the other end of the court at 12' and leave it there, but then what if Gerald Green decides he wants it at 10.5, and Tyrus Thomas wants it at 11?

Probably a smart ruling.

I agree. Although it would be crazy to see, it would definitely slow things down quite a bit. Nobody wants to see the hoop constantly being adjusted and in the meantime guys legs getting cold.

I find it kind of hard to believe that Dwight can do those dunks anyway. 360 on 12'? If he could do that, then he could easily shatter the highest dunk world record. He could one-hand on at least 12.5' if he can 360 on 12'. Between the legs on 11.5' seems pretty incredible also.

he must have already done these dunks before or he wouldnt ask to raise the rims.that is crazy though

Tyrus Thomas would want it at 7 feet flat so that he didn't have to exert himself.

it would be crazy to keep changing heights...i would just focus on an insane dunk at 10 feet if i were them

Dwight could no way do a 360 on 12 foot net.
He might just manage a between the legs on 11.5 but only just.

That's what I'm sayin. He would need well over a 40" vert and I believe he's only got about a 36".

I think he could do it. He's 6'11 an has a great vert. I don't see why not. I mean Vince stuck his whole hand through the rim, and he's only 6'6.
