Pistons sign Peyton Siva

The Detroit Pistons have signed second-round draft pick Peyton Siva.

The team announced the deal on Monday. Detroit took the Louisville guard with the 56th pick in this year's draft.

Jennings / Billups / Bynum / Siva

4 PG's on our roster - granted Billups will get some minutes at the 2.

Maybe a trade in the works? Think we might need a Centre off the bench to back Dre and Moose up...

Well once the season starts, we still have to wait 3 months to do anything with any of our point guards, right? (since every single one has signed a new contract)

So we'll see how a surplus of PG turns out. I'm really excited to see Bynum and Drummond play with each other again. They had some good chemistry last season. I hope he gets some PT in our Guard swamp.

and to be fair Stuckey will get PG minutes before Siva does. We really need to clear things up. I do see Billups getting SG minutes though.

I think one of Bynum or Stuckey might be best to trade, neither can really shoot, both are effective drivers... Hmm... If only Stuckey could shoot....

Siva is clearly going to be in the D-League for the majority of the season. He was signed only because he's a 2nd round pick and he's cheap. A team needs to carry 15 players and at the bottom of that they want the cheapest contracts possible, regardless of position. This is just a deal to save the Pistons money vs. signing someone for the vets minimum. I would highly doubt Siva sees much action at all this year. I really don't think Stuckey is going to see much time at PG. Jennings, Billups, and Bynum will get most of that time. With all these guards on our roster it makes one wonder how much playing time KCP will be able to see.

I really want KCP to get a good amount of game time - I am hoping for 20 minutes or there abouts...

I'd like to see what he can do as well. It'll be interesting to see how he does in the preseason. I think if he does well there then he could end up seeing about that. If he doesn't he might not get quite 20 minutes. Billups and Stuckey will both be playing SG. I don't know how Cheeks is going to manage the minutes of the guards. I don't envy trying to figure that out.

I compared him to Terrence Ross through the draft process. He got about 20 minutes per game for Toronto.

Doesn't have the spring of Ross, but is a better shooter. Pretty good comparison though...
