Evaluating the Magic's young core: Nik Vucevic
Vucevic, the 76ers’ No. 16 pick in the 2011 draft out of USC, averaged 13.1 points and 11.9 rebounds after limited playing time as a rookie with the Sixers.
Last season his highlights came against defending champion Miami, posting two 20-20 games, including a franchise-record 29-rebound performance. His impressive boardwork was the most pleasant surprise of all the tools he brought to the floor for the Magic. So the question is simple: Can Vooch’s development continue, given teams will pay particular attention to him in their game-plans? He vowed to return to camp stronger and with a greater focus on the defensive end. If Vucevic wants to become a top-10 center and give fans hope for the future, he needs to become more aggressive on both ends of the court. -- Orlando Sentinel |
