How good was Greg Oden supposed to be?

I heard a taller, longer Dwight Howard who could hit free throws

also a Bill Russell with more offense

also a taller center-version Anthony Davis

I also heard a rich man's Andrew Bogut

it was mostly defense and rebounding, his offense was never anything special

A Bill Russell/KG (defensive) type of player. Someone who could anchor your defense, intimidate players, and control the paint. Was never rlly a great low post scorer. But could over power and dunk on defender (like he did in the one preseason game he played in) and had somewhat of a jump hookshot. If stayed injury-free I think he would be the best center in the league right now. Better than Dwight, Gasol, Hibbert etc.

Rich man's Hibbert, probably. Without the jumper and a better finisher around the rim.

Bogut has a different offensive skill set.

When I first heard of him and read upon him. He was supposed to be the second coming of Shaq, his rebound and blocking was a sure thing, and his offense was going to come naturally due to his body type and athleticism.

and neither was D Howards and still isn't
and Oden was supposed to be a better post player and defender than Dwight

Best C is Dwight Howard
if Oden didnt get Injured,Hed have taken the crown of that title
was a better ft shooter, blocker, defender, better post moves
as a rookie

Though was extremely foul prone so maybe, maybe not

This goes to show you how blessed players are that dont get injured. If health was not an issue than the league would be full of superstas...who knows...someone could have been GOAT besides MJ.
