Southwest. Best teams and best players in the best division.

Either that or Southeast because of Wade.

They are the only championship teams.

If the Southwest had Deron Williams, they'd be a lock.

In order I go:
Southwest
Pacific
Southeast
Central
Northwest
Atlantic

Is he back in the NBA or are you talking about Jeff Van Gundy? Avery Johnson might have something to say about it.

Whoops, my bad. Avery Johnson, is still below those two IMO.

And isn't it funny, a big post of good work, and the one error gets brought up straight away...... celebrate the good!

Avery over VanGundy?:confusedshrug: Is it just because Avery doesnt have a championship yet?

It's because he inherited a dominant team. I don't rank Avery that highly yet.

He made that team play defense though. The Mavs were a good team before Avery got there but not dominant. I think Avery took them the next step

Nothing Pop or JVG couldn't have done. Don Nelson is an average bigtime coach, any decent coach could've made a turn around like Avery did.

Idk about just any decent coach. It takes something to make something

Well Terry Stotts, Brian Hill, Sam Mitchell etc couldn't do it. But guys like Mike Woodsen, JVG, Nate McMillan, Popovich, Scott Skiles, Jerry Sloan and Larry Brown could've managed it.

Avery had the benefit of being around the team or quite awhile as a player and assistant coach to his record, so that helped him.... insight.

in the southwest, i'd prefer to move duncan to center and gasol to pf so that they could start timmy and dirk next to each other (no offense to yao, i just think dirk and duncan would play better together). to me they are far and away the best team anyway. they have enough to be competitive on the perimeter and are dominating up front.

I like the Central.

And JVG inherited his frist team from Nellie as well. Though Houston has had injuries. Avery has done a better job of getting the players to fit his system than JVG, imo.
