OT: Snoop Dogg Says "F Bill O'Reilly", O'Reilly Replies To Snoop

Snoop Dogg recently appeared on a Holland based-talk show and had some unflattering words for frequent rap critic Bill O'Reilly.

After showing the clip, O'Reilly responded on his platform to the ghetto comment mocking Snoop saying, "Yeah, like Calvin lives in the {ghetto}. What is the pool boy going to beat me up there Snoopy?"

The beef is on lol. O'Reilly is ignorant.

Lol this is gonna bet really interesting...

Always wondered, when you read reports on stories, whatever the subject may be, when you say a word bracketed like so: "Yeah, like Calvin lives in the {ghetto}," it usually implies that word was what the speaker meant to say, right? What I never got was, there are certain words that if the speaker didn't say it, you wouldn't have a complete sentence! So like in this statement, what he didn't actually say the word ghetto, or what??? I know that's off topic, sorry.

Good question, I was wondering about the same thing solid snake. In this case, O´reilly did actually use the word ghetto...so why the brackets?

the brackets I guess are to indicate that he said it funny, he was making fun of the Dutch guy's accent who interviewed Snoop.

Ok, maybe in this case it may be different, but I'm sure you've all read stories where someone will be quoted as saying "we're gonna make sure we start [rebounding] the ball, etc," a seemingly very crucial word in the sentence is bracketed, and I just never got that. If that man didn't say the word "rebounding," we wouldn't have a sentence!!!

I know I always think the guy just made a ´rebounding´hand signal or something. Somebody will know this......

It just means they said some other word and the editor decided rebounding would fit better, or be more descriptive. Like in your example, they may have said "getting to" the ball or "tracking down" the ball, and whoever publishes the quote figures readers would understand it better with the word rebounding

Ahhh, that explains it, thanks alot man, that was killing me for no less than 7 years now.

So the brackets can mean two things, either filling in a word that someone literally didn't say but meant to say, or it could be used as a editorial decision to completely change what they said, to make it [easier to understand]. :D :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, good one. I hate O'Reilly, and it's about time people say bad stuff about him. And by the way, if they did fight, O'Reilly would not even stand a chance.

I doesn't Snoop life weights?? He's dangerously skinny.

Re: OT: Snoop Dogg Says "F Bill O'Reilly", O'Reilly Replies To Snoop

Both sides are at blame here. Snoop shouldn't say "F" this and suck my dick. O'Reilley just makes it worse by saying "ghetto" in the way he did and talking about drug testing on his show.

Actually Snoop is 6'4" and around 200 lbs. Plus while O'Reilly's 200 pounds consists of a lot of fat, Snoop is mostly muscle. So you can see who would win in a fight.
