spud webb could dunk when he was 4'11

I call bull

Quote:

He did not play on his high school team until his senior year because "the coaches were giving the guys who were seniors the chance to play."[2] However, he did learn to dunk during the summer before his senior year, when he was only 4'11".[3]

I know wikipedia is supposed to have a lot of BS, but this is ridiculous. Can anyone actually try to confirm that this is true? 4'11? cotdamn

He didn't seem the get that high above the rim wen he dunked when he was taller. I'm gonna call bull.

I like how whoever wrote that part pretends to cite it to give it credibility yet there's no [3] or [2] footnote at the bottom

hotsizzle 07-07-2006 08:49 PM

no its true. i heard in alot of other places as well. first time he dunked he was 4'11"

TheBigAristotle1 07-07-2006 08:50 PM

Holy shiiit

Skywalker 07-07-2006 08:50 PM

That means that he would have to be able to jump on his clones head, PFFFFFT NO WAY.

kumquat 07-07-2006 08:52 PM

Not that hard to believe. That's close enough to being 5ft.

Skywalker 07-07-2006 08:54 PM

So you believe a guy had like a 58-60 inch vertical?

hotsizzle 07-07-2006 08:55 PM

dam he was 4'11" in his senior year and managed to get to 5'7"

YEs but not making up for the loss of like 6-7 inches, plus his arms probably grew in length in time too. F he could dunk when he was 4'11 he would have been doing much more crazy stuff then a 360.

TheBigAristotle1 07-07-2006 09:06 PM

I always thought Spud had shortish arms for a basketball player, which made his dunking that much more incredible.

That's ridiculous if he could dunk at 4-11. All my dunks are still rimming out at 5-10. 8 inches is a lot to grow though. Didn't Dennis Rodman grow a bunch over one summer? Anybody know how much?
