Re: Finance Advice Thread
Yeah but now you're making it about you. The rest of us enjoy the convenience of amazon or some of the shows amazon has. They've been putting out some decent series recently. While Costco is essentially membership based retail, amazon is FAR beyond that. It's not even a competition... that alone justifies the 60 dollar difference.
What do you mean now?
My issue is because I can no longer see the value shopping on amazon for myself, I can't understand how they'll continue to grow.
It was always about me :lol
Not predicting a mass exodus from Amazon overnight, but I don't think I'm alone on this either. Amazon.com is a kind of membership based retail though. Your FAR beyond that is comprised of services nobody was purchasing a la carte, so Amazon tied it to the thing people really want (free shipping).

are you choosing to ignore the second line after what you bolded? I mean wtf
Their ability to expand is not limited by what you find useful but rather the mass which they’ve been doing quite well catering to based on their latest financial disclosures

Re: Finance Advice Thread
Any of you actually listen to me on loading up on airlines, hotels, banks, everything else that was damaged?
all that shit is recovering $$$ :applause:
Re: Finance Advice Thread
I'm at about 45% gain on boeing alone in six months. I may be putting some money into airbnb depending on what they end up being valuated at.
Re: Finance Advice Thread
Boeing is a good one, sold mine like 2 days ago...probably a mistake
I've have a bad habit of taking profits way too early...being patient can be difficult
Re: Finance Advice Thread
Well my dad who retired on stocks always said think of stocks as retirement. Throw money in where you think is best and dont touch it for 40 years.
I get greedy and throw money in dividend stocks here and there because I like quick return versus having to sell, but stocks like boeing are def. worth it considering they're not going anywhere despite airbus becoming a huge threat.
RGS...Regis Corporation
biggest owner of barber shop / hair salon chains
dirt cheap right now...$6 a share, was $20 before covid
From what I understand 90% of their places are currently open and they expect to make a full recovery...and obviously they will, people won't permanently stop getting hair cuts.
easy money IMO...just got to have the patience to wait out the recovery....might take a year or two, but 100% profit is amazing within that time.
I'm up 57% on this one
waiting for it to hit $12 a share

Seems sketchy considering it was ~6$/share what, six days ago and as high as 9 bucks in august
That's not much of a recovery, but just fluctuation.
This is a recovery:

Re: Finance Advice Thread
yeah I'm waiting on it to hit $12 before I sell...that would be a recovery
all of these things are in the beginnings of a recovery...even oil is going up
like I've been saying...the market doesn't need for these businesses to recover in real life...the market just needs to see that a recovery is on the way..."futures"
all this shit will recover on the stock market before it actually recovers IRL...and if youre snoozing you're gonna miss it
Re: Finance Advice Thread
Then under that ideology why so quick to sell? Why not just let the stocks go for 40 years like i suggested? I mean if looking at avg stock prices decade to decade we see continual growth I see it as a sound investment.

I have been selling things too early...
that said, me personally I have a lot of investments that I simply never touch tied up in 401k and other things...they will hopefully just grow till I retire.
then I have a side 'day trading' account where I move shit around myself for fun...constantly buying and selling. This has been my most successful year ever...and what's nuts is I feel like it's just starting too. I still have so many 'recovery stocks' that I feel are wildly under priced.
Re: Finance Advice Thread
DOW officially above 30,000
Re: Finance Advice Thread
Online gambling companies, especially if crowds will be allowed in the coming year, but might still be attractive if not - depending a bit on the general economic level of people as well.
The Euro 2020 championship was postponed from last year until the summer, and then in 2022 year you're going to have the World Cup.
The first quarter after the 2022 WC would probably be a good spot to sell.
Betsson Group
William Hill
Kindred Group
Leo Vegas
companies like those.
Bonus tip: Evolution Gaming, they're far and away the best producers of live casino game services worldwide and they're going to eat that market up over the next 10 years.
Re: Finance Advice Thread
Correction, the Euro 2020 was postponed from THIS year until next summer.
