There will be no stimulus because the virus is gone. This weekend the malls were packed and people were out shopping and not distancing. Restaurants are packed as our county doesn't really enforce anything.
It's over. We were duped.
naw...more covid cases than ever right now, and the stock market exploding over vaccine news...so yeah

More testing than ever, more COVID tests in 1 day than an entire year of flu tests, hospitalization rate less than flu, but you make a good point:
There are still enough people terrified of it that we will can still get a bailout for special interests and nobody will say shit about it.
We saw a $6 trillion bailout this year and only 3.8% went directly to people directly. Nobody cared. Here's to another special interest bailout with a tiny % directly to the American people :confusedshrug:
The Cares Act was $2T...they've been trying to push another $2T for months now with no luck...with cases rising and a Biden win the market perceived it as another huge $2T stimulus around the corner, but now with a vaccine around the corner that has to put a damper in passing a stimulus of large size.
IDK ...we'll see I guess...but my predictions are that the stimulus will be smaller than originally expected and the market will drop because of it.
All this is VERY temporary though, the DOW is still on it's way to hitting 40,000 within the next couple years due to all this new money.
All told, the U.S. government has committed more than $6 trillion to arrest the irrational fear and lockdowns that caused economic downturn.
That was in April.
Now it's estimated at $16 trillion:

Yikes.
We should've invested with those billionaires making $100,000,000 per DAY on pointless testing. :oldlol:
They gave up on the stimulus.
Those people that talked about Trump's spending should know that 3 trillion of that went to Americans and they were either $1200 or $600/week stimulus and PPP. We won't have another one seeing as the House and Senate can't come to an agreement while Trump was urging them to happen. I'm not sure if Biden or the Dems can get it going.
They want to give more money than the original. Can you believe that?

that's not $16T in gov spending :facepalm
That's an estimation of the total cost to all of us...
anyway, we get it, you think the handling of covid has been bad...but there is a covid thread for that
Sold a few stocks today to take profits. Will wait for a rainy day dip to buy some.

Why are you subjecting yourself to atleast a 10% tax man?
I really don't understand your strategy but then again I don't know your situation...

I don't have much money sitting around to invest to another sector so all I can really do is take profits here to shift elsewhere. I had too much in tech so trying to shift out of tech.
I didn't sell much. Just couple Square stocks. Going to wait for a big dip day to buy some other stock or market-wide etf like SPY.
Bitcoin.

Nice gains on BA stock today so far as well as the DJI
AirBNB IPO should be announced soon, i'm starting to look into their financials to see if it's worth the gamble of buying in.
this is kind of a weird time IMO...covid cases are sky rocketing but the market is still going up because a vaccine is around the corner.
2021 has the making of an absolute market explosion *if* Biden throws out a stimulus right away AND the vaccines begin making their way around.
I imagine the entire population will be taking a plane trip vacation.
actually now that I think about it, AirBNB might be a good opportunity to buy low and wait for the vacation explosion to come
