No it doesn't...not when we made the playoffs the season he sat out 90% of and made it the season after he left too
The 2 seasons we missed since were with a list and playing group - including starters, that doesn't resemble the team Kawhi played with...literally a whole different group.

How many has he won through his career?
How many have the Clippers won?
Yep...I've watched my team win more chips than you or any of the above.

Also, the kawhi stan is using a simple addition by subtraction argument - with no context what so ever...
So by his logic...
The clipps this playoffs have 100% with rate without kawhi...haven't skipped a beat...
Don't need him, he makes the team worse...

You had Aldridge the last two years and it resulted in him missing the playoffs and having a heart attack.
Raptors also have lowry, siakam, vanvleet and can't even make the play in, let alone playoffs.

Re: 2021 Western Conference Round 2: (1) Utah Jazz vs. (4) L.A. Clippers
Final numbers for series:
Batum ON, Gobert ON: LAC +40 (146 MIN)
The French Scottie pippen was too much to handle for gobert.
Also in the 4 straight wins, clippers had a 131 offensive rating when gobert was on the court.
Time to steal one on suns while Paul sits out and have kawhi return to crush them.
Ultimately, the issue starts with the Jazz perimeter defenders who routinely gave up the paint to the Clippers drivers. Paul George and Reggie Jackson repeatedly beat Mitchell, Conley, and Clarkson off the dribble, and Gobert had to rotate to help.
but an injured Rudy is supposed to guard everyone at once!
It’s a flaw in the Jazz defensive execution from the perimeter defenders, a flaw in the scheme with Gobert, and a flaw in the personnel for not having an alternative for the coaching staff to turn to.
This happens literally every playoffs. It’s Rudy’s fault for not developing a post game. If he could punish small ball lineups on offense this wouldn’t happen. No one goes small against Embiid or Jokic.
Happens every playoff but this is one of the goat choke jobs. Isn't this the 2nd 20+ point lead the Jizz have blown? Add the best player on the team missing, add one of the starters missing, 25 points ahead, get scored on 80-90 points in the second and lose it all. There are levels to this, and Croissant Capela just got to the biggest one.
Mitchell & Clarkson are hilariously bad defenders though, Jesus :lol I give Con his due because he's much better than this, but he obviously played injured last night.

a lot of people blaming rudy for the perimeter defense collapsing but that's not really his fault in the 1st place, the wings are supposed to do their job and prevent that, rudy is the last line of defense sure, but everyone else routinely allowed clippers to drive at will.

jazz still have a great team, they should get some athletic wings that can play defense though.

you cant stop a great wing from driving, but gobert's hideous ineptness at closing out on corners was their death sentence. if he had any kind of just decent foot speed, he should close out with his length and be able to at least bother a drive going by him...
but he was just shook out there.
completely unplayable.

not saying he's not at fault, but not all of the fault lies on him. i think the obvious move would have been to take him out for the 2nd half and play a small ball lineup, but even then, the jazz don't have capable defenders at the wing position which puts a lot of pressure on the center.
theres a lot of instances last night where mitchell didn't switch and just stood there on defense instead of doing something, that increases the defensive load on rudy. mitchell does a lot of ball watching on defense, that's what he sucks at, he just stands there while the offense is switching and looking for the exploit, he stands still...at least Rudy is moving his feet and trying

^^^ not sure what the agenda is here, everyone is focused on rudy being exposed for his poor perimeter defense, but his main objective is to protect the rim and the surroinding area, mitchell's job is to guard the perimeter. if your center has to closeout on every single play, your wings are NOT doing their job correctly. and yes, i understand the modern center's job includes closing out and guarding the perimeter part time, but it was every single play last night. just watch all of the video and focus on mitchell. he stands still.

Just got done watching the game. That was unbelievable, down by 25 at the half and win by 12? WTF
Jackson and Mann were huge. Seemed like their whole team was in the zone in the 2nd half.
I didn't care who won the series but I feel good for the clippers and their fans. So little success over the years. Winning a game like that at home was huge for the franchise.
an elimination game is a lot different than a first round match up where they didn't need him.
you can get eliminated in the first round. Utah was down 1-0 at the time when he wanted to play, that's an urgent situation and he thought they needed him. when i'm talking about cutting him slack for the ankle injury I also meant during this series. You really are doing whatever you can to hold on when it's ok to concede your favorite player had a bad game and deserves a portion of blame.
No offensive star ever gets that much blame passed on the coach when he has a bad game(though maybe more blame should be passed on). Gobert got paid to be as impactful as those offensive stars by his defense. That tax with gobert/mitchell and all those other guys in the future will be huge.
He was not this series(even before this game he was only a +2 by +/-). If you blame everything on no Conley, then it would seem Conley is the most impactful player on the team if he has that much of an effect on your best player. If Gobert had even Steven Adams level touch around the paint too, the clippers might've been forced to play Zubac much more and that would've made his life significantly easier on defense. That's a big flaw of his game too he better work on this offseason.

it's a team sport. A guy that plays no defense and doesn't involve his teammates in the offense is certainly part of the problem
