People who hate on Gobert don't understand basketball. He changes the opponent's entire offensive game when he's on the floor being such a huge presence in the paint. Heck he's even out on the perimeter bothering shots.

I honestly don't think most people on here hate him. It's ISH tradition to crap over player stans like Xiao. Most of CC's impact is dunked on here to piss him off more than anything, he's clearly an amazing defensive freak. His impact is also shown on what teams don't attempt rather than what we see, which is fear of going to the paint. Saying that, teams that could hurt Gobert is elite scoring backcourt switching him on P&R, Blazers, Suns, Warriors, Nets. Outside of that, he should be fine.

No one hates on Gobert. And they understand his impact on defense. But we aren’t going to act like he’s defending the perimeter like that. If there’s anything he doesn’t do great on defense it’s that. Plenty of times you’ll catch him not even running out to contest. He’s not that good defending the perimeter. He plays defense like the 90’s centers. Where the game was closer to the rim.

Sad part is, that’s probably true in the RS regular season.

If you look at the young guards in the West like Mitchell, Murray, and Luka, they do a lot of ****ing around in the regular season. And the focus peaks in the playoffs.

Luka is the least ADD of all of them but he still does nonsense.

Mitchell is just playing way way above his head the past two playoff runs. But the thing is, he’s probably not in a way. He isn’t this good but he is clearly better than what he does in the regular season. I wanna see exactly how good he is.

if he's not running out to contest it's because they've chosen to give up the 3 rather than give up the paint. Teams will score at will at the rim if he's on the perimeter. Can't be two places at once though he comes close. Morris sure got a taste of him defending like a 90's center

He's doing pretty much the same. Playing good for a half or a quarter and not a full game. Only game 5 against Memphis did he show up for 48 minutes. And of course that was at only one end of the court

Rudy definitely deserves the DPOY award. Just watch how guards avoid him in the paint. There’s guards with that glare in their eye that tells you they want to attack the rim but as soon as they Rudy down there, they pass the ball or settle for a jumper.
