Re: Should we trade kblaze to RGM for a package of high volume/high IQ posters?
I'm not American so Thanksgiving isn't part of my culture, but enjoy the festivities
Guess who’s house I’m at for thanksgiving?

I’m told that is a fruit salad but I can’t identify anything but raisins and marshmallows.
That looks absolutely disgusting

Marshmallows in fruit salad and chopping down trees for fun
Sad days

Rex chapmans family might have hers beat

I can’t even imagine thinking of that and going through with making it to even find out how it tastes. That’s an idea that should have never left the first persons head.

The second half of that sentence is in conflict with the first.

I'm serious though. Peanut butter goes with just about anything, and I bet it's great in a fruit salad. Sounds kind of like a Thai dessert.

Years ago, I had a co-worker recommended me a peanut butter & orange sandwich, basically slices of oranges to go with the peanut butter. Stupidly tried it and it was awful.
I've tried a peanut butter sandwich with banana slices, honey, then stove cooked it with butter. Very good stuff.
Re: Should we trade kblaze to RGM for a package of high volume/high IQ posters?
Peanut butter is basically a sweet peanut sauce. Straight up onto salad probably not good, but it's a well-known ingredient in some Asian influenced vinaigrettes also used in some satay recipes.

Someone talked me into trying a banana sandwhich once. It was bread with peanut butter and banana slices, which would have been good...but for some unfathomable reason he also had mayonnaise on there. Absolutely disgusting! So when I say peanut butter goes with just about anything, it does NOT go with mayonnaise.

:oldlol: This nasty pic conjured up some repressed ptsd/nausea from holidays past at the white side of my family's gatherings. Old folks love that stuff. Sometimes there'd be 2 or 3 different versions of em. :coleman:
Fortunately, I had a Mexican side of the family that'd fix everything right up with way too many tamales to compensate. If someone tried to smuggle some of that marshmallow crap in those gatherings they'd have been run out.
While getting rid of some extra junk around the house I was looking through a great aunt's recipe books that had long since passed. In this stack I found around all too many books filled with abominations, such as the one you so kindly posted, along with entire books devoted to "jello salads." Horrid, gelatinous monstrosities filled with fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese whatever scraps you had in the fridge got tossed in and preserved for your later pleasure....

Apologies, for the pic, but your aggression must be met in kind.
Out of curiosity I read up a little on why these nightmares even existed and the answer usually came down to this stuff being depression era food. It was a method of stretching out what they had into something I guess they felt was more palatable while prolonging the lifespan of the food at the same time. Makes me question wtf was unpalatable at the time, but whatever.
Regardless, history aside. We're not in the depression anymore so there's no damn excuse for somebody trying to force that down an innocent victim's gullet in the year 2022. You should be mad at that.:oldlol: A man has got to draw the line somewhere....
The recipe books got composted. Probably should have burned them to truly ensure that there would be no resurrection, but what's done is done.
I don't think it even needs to be said, but you will NEVER be pleasantly surprised by the taste of one these jello/marshmallow crimes of humanity ever.
There is no joy there, only despair.

Nobody loves peanut butter more than me, I often eat breakfast with just a coffee and two scoops of chunky PB( or as an afternoon snack). That sounds absolutely disgusting. Now PB with some Banana slices on bread, you're onto something. But straight up in a fruit salad? Hell to the fukk no.
Oh and this is the spread when I made dinner:

And there was a whole second table with more sides and a whole pan of just the smoked Turkey legs you see there. Brined, injected with a seasoned broth, smoked, and basted with a spicy honey. I made like 10 and didn’t even get to taste one that time. They go too fast.
You don’t claim Holiday food responsibility if you can’t cook or won’t buy catering. Luckily I can cook. And if I couldn’t I’d spring for a dinner. I wouldn’t give people whatever this stuff on my plate is.
All that food was shite till this.
Who the eff has marshmelo fruit salad let alone raisins and shiet
