Marvin looking impressive so far.

Sure it is SL. We only have boxscores to go on. He is putting up some impressive stats.

Yea he does look good. I think he could be a solid 6th man this year or potentially a starter. He had 20 or 22 the other day.

fatboy11 07-16-2006 04:48 PM

He needs to start. I'd almost say start Shelden at center and Marvin at power forward.

Marvin looks like he is lacking grey matter to me, and Josh Smith really looks slow.

Hey guys, i live in Salt Lake and i've been watching him at the Rocky Mountain Revue. I also watched him play last summer. He didn't impress me at all last year to tell you the truth. But somewhere between last July and this month, he's turned into something special. (I never really saw him during the season cuz we don't get Hawks games obviously.) He is absolutely dominating for the Hawks. Last night, the 76ers couldn't stop him. The thing that surprises me about him is his court awareness. Most big guys have no clue what's going on and wait for the ball to come into the post for an inside 2. But Marvin is very good at anticipating other guys cutting to the hoop for easy backdoor passes and lay-ups. If he keeps making that kind of improvement every year, expect an all-star within 3 or 4 years.

Sorry - they played Dallas last night. very entertaining game. Salim is one pure shooter. it was utah who played the 76ers.

He actually started to emerge the last several months of the season. He average 15/7 in April. Marvin has always been a very smart player. That is why if he would have been in the draft this year(06). There would be doubt of him going #1. He just wasn't ready last year. Hawks knew this and why they brought him along slowly. Woodson manage his mins on purpose. Many of the experts and scouts knew he would be a year away at least. Now he will still need to perform well to silence the doubters. It is all about confidence and being aggressive for him. Whatever confidence he gain in the SL will benefit him greatley in the regular season. Thus make him more aggressive where the game just come natural to him.

CP3 is still way better, always will be

CP3/Salim
Johnson
J. Smith/Childress
Al Harrington
S. Williams/Zaza

looks way better

Can't redo the draft. Time to move on.

I just hope Marvin turns out better or just as good as CP3 down the road.

Chris Paul will still be better, no denying that. But Marvin will still be a star. I think 23ppg, 9rpg, 3.5apg, 2bpg, 1-2spg. That is what I expect from him, anyway. As much as I hate the fact that the Hawks didn't get Chris Paul, I'm starting to think they may have made the right move.

If you can hold on...

even though I've said this a million times..I want to see Marvin Williams breakout and do something unlike last year...I hope he gets minutes and gives me a reason to actually watch the Hawks.
