Keeper League question
I can only keep 4 guys and it's based on draft position.
Currently I have 5 guys who are no brainer keepers. Amare 1st round Josh Smith 2nd round Dwill 3rd round Al Jefferson 4th round Durant 5th round So I can't keep them all. Who do I keep and therefore the 5th one, I will try and trade them for a vetern stud that plays the same position. I am considering trying to get Nash for Dwill straight up (using the keeper aspect as added Dwill value). Nash was a 1st rounder, so I wouldn't keep him over Amare. Both Jefferson and Amare are C eligible. I also have solid keepers in Tyson 6th rounder and RJ 9th rounder. Thoughts/advice? Thanks! |
Re: Keeper League question
I wouldn't keep Durant over Josh Smith, Amare, Deron, and Al Jeff. Your boys are all 1st and 2nd rounders in a redraft league.
Kevin Durant is a fine player for years to come. Probably a multi-cat player in the shape of...dare I say...Kobe and Rashard. Scoring beast while hitting all cats. Not Arenas(assist beast), Nash(assist Beast), Dirk(rebounds, and %'s), Marion(Mulit-cat specialist without being a primary offensive weapon), Garnett(Rebound, %'s, minus the threes), Lebron(actually closer than i thought) You want to trade for Nash..Releasing/trading Nash down the road? Bad idea... Deron(younger, much younger) and Nash are 10+ assist men. Locking one category down all by themself. Not to mention their all-around fantasy prowess. Scorers like Durant can be found all over the place during the draft. Other 10+ assist men: Nash Chris Paul Deron William Jason Kidd Couple honorable mentions Bdiddy Tj ford Tyson and RJ don't hold a light next to your other keepers. Keeping them to open up your draft round is another bad idea. |
Re: Keeper League question
So you think that trying to deal Durant would be the best idea, with Amare, Jefferson, DWill and Smoove as my 4 keepers?
If I deal Durant, I want a vet I assume that I would have no intention of keeping. Any ideas? Ray Allen type guy maybe? The reason I mentioned Tyson etc was because it's also about value in addition to pure talent. Buy you're saying Tyson as a 6th rounder isn't as valueable as Amare as a 1st or Jefferson as a 4th etc? Thanks for the input. |

Your keepers are solid. Deron is the most untradable piece you have. Surprised? Amare is a beast...im afraid of his knee holding up after the next 2-3 years. Al Jeff is a beast as well, but doesn't bring enough blocks to the table. Smoove with improved fg% and ft% would be AMAZING. Al Jeff and Amare make up for that beautifully. My remark about finding scorers in the draft is a bit hasty. 30 point nights are going to be common place for durant. Maybe package Durant and 1 of your big 4...for an upgrade into the top 10. Now that is a better idea. Tyson and RJeff have beatiful value and maybe you can add Tyson to the Durant package. With your Big 4 i almost dont care who else you have. Keeper wise. Anytime...your welcome. |
Re: Keeper League question
I might be able to get Paul Pierce and Mo Williams for my Durant and Jameer Nelson. Is this a good deal?
|
Re: Keeper League question
PP and Durant is a wash. But the Vet edges him in every category except maybe ft%.
MO is poor mans jkidd, chris paul, steve nash. Filling the stat sheet across the board with 3', points, 5+ass,5+rebs, and stls, Half the time he puts up klunkers like last night. Reducing you fg%. Gaining PP doesn't improve you keepers and may be untradeable to owners later. For that top 10 upgrade down the line. Overall your team vastly improves with two mutlicat players. |

This is what I think as well. I still have Amare, Big Al, Smoove and DWill as keepers, and since I only have 4, I need to move one. This Pierce deal helps me win this season. |

If you want to trade for 4 keepers only, try out Durant+Al for Kobe Deron+Tyson for Paul Amare, Josh, Paul, Kobe |

So you think I should try and upgrade the keepers I have? Obviously you wouldn't know this, but we can only keep 1 guy per round, and both Amare and Kobe were 1st rounder and SMoove and CP3 were 2nd rounders. |

Ah ok gotcha. I'd go for kobe over amare and keep Al as your big man. I'd think about Amare+Durant for Kobe+filler. |

Then my keepers would be Kobe, Big Al, Smoove and Dwill. Solid plan. Got most categories covered with those guys. Is Kobe worth that much though? Durant + Amare? The filler I would think should be pretty darn good. |
Re: Keeper League question
Was offered VC for Durant. Is that enough?
Also can be expanded to Amare/Durant for Dirk/VC. I would then drop Diaw for Haywood. |

Well like you said, there's 5 possible keepers, so you can afford to get rid 2 of those guys and get a better keeper back. You can afford to lose amare with Chandler+Al. I still say try and trade Amare+Durant for Kobe+someone else you like. |

Again, info you wouldn't know, but the team with Kobe has NO blocks, and I would need to get some in return to make that deal work othrwise I might drop significantly in blks. I won't keep Tyson. If I dealt Durant/Amare for a better keeper, I would keep Dwill, Smoove, Big AL and then the new stud (kobe etc). |
Re: Keeper League question
Based on my team needs, I have proposed the following deals:
1) Durant/Amare for Yao/Pierce 2) Durant/Amare/Diaw for Duncan/Josh Howard/Granger Thoughts? Yao would be my keeper if deal 1 went through. If the 2nd deal went down, upgrade overall talent to win this season, but Granger would be a sneaky keeper as he was taken in the 7th round. |
