So ultimately, where does Big Ben end up

He cannot shoot for his life, but he's an amazing defender, 4-time DPOY. But I don't give him more than 7 million per year. Who's gonna end up with him.

Does he stay in Detroit? Go to Chicago? New Orleans?

I think that he'd fit in well with Chicago

Him and Chandler would be a be a defensive force down low. I just don't know if Chicago can afford to have both of them on the floor at the same time because of the offensive liability

Coolest place he could end up: Sacramento

Best fit: Chicago

Best chance of winning a championship: Phoenix or Detroit, & maybe Dallas

dffsaf 06-03-2006 12:55 PM

chicago

chicago could be real contenders with wallace and aldridge/thomas lining up as their froncourt....they already have great gaurds

Juvenile 06-03-2006 12:55 PM

He definitely isnt a good fit in Chicago, why would they need another frontcourd player who doesnt score? Sacramento is a great fit, they would have really balanced scoring and a defense unequaled in this league. But Chicago? Nah.

dak121 06-03-2006 12:56 PM

If the Bulls get him...

Trade Chandler as soon as Wallace is signed. 20+ million per year tied up into 2 of the worst frontcourt scorers in the league is not a good way to run a team.

He's not going to Phoenix, unless its through a sign and trade. He wouldn't fit in with the team, anyways...

totoro 06-03-2006 01:00 PM

I'm thinking he will stay in Detroit. Who else has money under the cap to be able to sign him that he would want to play for? Untimatley, Detroit is going to give him the best chance at winning and a nice payday.

AppleNader 06-03-2006 01:01 PM

Without the great overall defense of the Pistons, Ben Wallace will be EXPOSED as a player who is overrated defensively and a complete liability offensively.

Yes, he's a great help defender, but he's not even a great man-to-man. I'd also like a center who shoots better than 22% eFG% on jumpshots, and can hit at least 50% of his free throws. My God, is that too much to ask for?

me too

I would like to see him back at 4 for 9 million club option on the 5th. We'll prolly give him 10. I don't know, it's a tough call. Joe D has his work cut out for him.

If we were to sign and trade him with Orlando's pick, I don't know who would really be an upgrade. What center is a solid defender, preferebly help side cos Sheed and Dyess are great on the ball in the post, can put 12-15 ppg, and is available?

kwajo 06-03-2006 01:23 PM

Ben would look cool in Memphis or Toronto next to either Bosh or Pau who both need a center who can rebound well. doubt either will happen, but it would be great
