Pavel had his defenders and his detractors. I'm sure there will be mixed reaction on this. It is a good move for him though. The only way to find out if he can play is to get on the court. And with Diop, Damp, and Benga in front of him, there wasn't much chance of that. Even if there were injuries, Avery might be inclined to play Dirk at center some instead of Pavel. I'll be curious to see if someone picks him up, or will they wait and let him go overseas and watch him.

I think that somebody will pick him up. He is a big body that if taught right can make a difference for a team.

I hope someone picks him up. Although he's never going to be a star he's got potential to be a decent contributer, and he has improved over the last few years. The dude is still only 21 it's a bit early to abondon him completely

ya hopefully someone will pick him up and train him more to become a player that will use his size to his advantage, if not someone in Europe will probably be interested

kobedaman24 08-07-2006 10:59 PM

Yeah i know, but its not like Mavs were losing anything important.

Silent Mav 08-07-2006 11:19 PM

If noone signs him cheap after he clears waivers, he'll end up in Europe. If he shows something over there I'm sure someone will take a chance and bring him back. As long as he's young and 7'5", he'll draw a paycheck somewhere for a few years.
