Which Rockets players should be traded away?

Who do you want gone from the team?

And who, or what type of players, should replace them?

All but Yao Ming.

Stromile Swift - for whoever we can get for him.

Agreed, HUGE disappointment. They should try to get a good spot-up shooting guard.

bigboi_baller 06-09-2006 08:42 PM

tmac's teams always seem to under acheive first orlando -go ahead and blame that on grant hill, but im not takin that--now houston...maybe hes the prob....do i smell a tmac/swift for AI/hunter/korver rumor commin up?

Stomile Swift- all he has is hops. Not a very smart player, and does not play his true position as PF.

Rafer Alston- A shoot first PG, has to learn to pass or be traded. T'Mac or Yao should be taking the shots, not the PG.

In return, probably a solid pass first point such as Brevin Knight.

Funny how Yao gets new teammates almost every year.

You're talking about Mike James. I dont mind Alston. He's a good ball-distributor, but he has NO shot, which is all the Rocket role players need to do. Make the open J. He also needs to cut back on his turnovers. Many of them are unforced.

Even though Stro turned out to be a bust, at the time, he was a valued commodity. Tons of teams in the league were after him and were willing to pay much more than the MLE. No harm done by signing him since he doesnt have a bad, untradable contract. I think the main problem with this guy is that he doesnt fit into the Van Gundy style of play. He still has a ton of upside.

Well, Van Gundy is the coach so...........

Howard
Alston
Swift
Sura

should all get traded, to clear the cap and build around TMAC and Yao.

ClutchCityReturns 06-15-2006 10:04 PM

Sura's contract, if he's on the shelf for good, which is likely.

Stromile, as soon as possible, before his stock goes any farther south.

Ryan Bowen, for a year's worth of free rentals from Blockbuster.

Juwan Howard, which unfortunately won't happen.

Seriously though, I think this deal might work...

Swift
Bowen (1 year left)

for

Cliff Robinson (1 year left)
Scott Padgett (1 year left)
#23 pick

The pick may be well worth it.
