Kobe officially wins MVP. Voting wasn't even close

First place votes:

Kobe - 82
Chris Paul - 28
KG - 15
Lebron - 1

Kinda surprising..

To me it's more surprising that so few voters saw Lebron as the MVP.

I really want to see the Hornets and Lakers play for the West. This voting just solidified that.

Not that surprising to me, the Cavs were only the 4th seed in the East, if Bron won 50 games, with those stats, it would be a blowout in votes for LeBron. But he didn't win enough games, I think CP3 deserved way more votes than that though.

Obvious bias against the Gomorrah-esque city of New Orleans.

I agree, but CP3 has plenty of time to get the award.

I kinda saw this happening when Scott won COY
but a blow out like this?

CP3 needs more love, although I DO believe Kobe deserved it more

I don't think CP was deprieved of love because he didn't have many 1st votes, he probably got most of the 2nd place votes, and that just means a voter believed there was only one player more deserving than Paul.
Not that bad for Paul.

I mean honestly this is what I expected. Nto to try to come off as all-seeing but I figured in about late Feb/early March that Kobe had this MVP on lock. Paul for as great as he was wasn't as strong of an MVP candidate as thought just because this is his first year playing MVP-quality ball, and first year contenders for the award seem to always get slighted by the media. Theres alway next year though, and Paul has shown he deserves to be considered for the award with the way he's playing now, he'll definitely be a dark horse to look for in MVP races for years to come.

Why was Andre Iguodala and other non-Lakers teammates at Kobe's MVP press conference? Kobe has no friends.

And he's the only 2nd SG to ever win a MVP.
