1979 champs
without referencing a book/website, try to name as many players as you can on the 1979 championship club...
 :banghead: :ohwell: |
i am starting to wonder if there are any real supersonic fans out there...
   :( :( :( |
DJ, Gus Williams, Silas, Jack Sikma were their best players. They were among the very few teams who didn't have one of the "50 GOAT" players (as selected in 1997) and won the title. They had plenty of stars, though.
PS. Not a fan of the Sonics, just a fan of history. ;) |
setting the bar

  good job psileas! this is one of my litmus test questions to sift through the folks with some knowledge o f the nba and the pretenders so--- you set the bar----->> if a person can name four people on the sonic 1979 championship team, you are NOT a pretender. (hardcore sonic fans should name 10 of the 12 however) since none have been named to that GOAT team, it goes to show you how great a TEAM the sonics were in 79 to win it all. no superstars but knew how to play together and win it all over unseld and hayes et al |
Thanks, man.

I cant name any of the other players, nor am i much of a sonics fan, but they were coached by lenny wilkins :D
|
correct lebron z
lenny turned that team around the year before. bob hopkins was the coach in '78 and the team want 5-17 i think. he was fired; lenny was hired and the team went on a tear and went to the nba finals; the next year, we won it all lenny is legend in seattle!!!!       |
The only players I can think of are...
DJ-The MVP Gus Williams-I think he was their leading scorer, and season leader as well Jack Sikma-We have him in our sidelines so I know him... Fred Brown-Downtown Fred Brown |
