Nets add Doug Overton as assistant coach
The New Jersey Nets have named Doug Overton as an assistant coach, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Overton joins Brian Hill and Tom Barrise as a member of Head Coach Lawrence Frank’s staff.

Overton had served as an assistant coach on Phil Martelli’s staff at Saint Joseph’s during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 campaigns. Prior to his stint at Saint Joseph’s, the Philadelphia native spent the 2005-06 season as the Director of Player Development for the Philadelphia 76ers, where he assisted the coaching and scouting staffs and worked with the team’s community outreach programs.

Douglas M. Overton (born August 3, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a former American professional basketball player who was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the 2nd round (40th overall) of the 1991 NBA Draft. A 6'3" point guard from La Salle University, Overton played in 11 NBA seasons for 8 different teams. He played for the Washington Bullets, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, New Jersey Nets, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers.

In his NBA career, Overton played in 499 games and scored a total of 2,253 points. In May 2006, Overton was named assistant men's basketball coach at Saint Joseph's University.

Overton also spent time with the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian NBL.
Thats good to know. Maybe he can help out marcus if he isnt traded and Devin. Now all we need is a former center and are staff is completeb
