Is Joe Johnson overrated?
 

Well, is he? We all know he is a versatile player capable of playing three positions, but how good is he really? He will probably be replacing Michael Redd on the US National Team in the 2006 World Championships, since he is one of the very few decent shooters on that team. But is he even that good of a shooter? Is he effective without the ball? How about his defense?

He is on the team, but isn't playing in the WC because he's getting married.

how can he be overrated playin with the hawks?? his only wing option is josh smith, 20 points and 6.5 assists is gd but not gr8

He got paid! I don't think he is overrated. He is a pretty good player, but hawks wanted him to play PG & he aint no pt guard. But I like Gerald Wallace a lot better. That guy is a beast.

He was overrated last offseason, but one season with the hawks normalizes things... He doesn't get as much talk now

He's rated where he should be: a good, if not great shooting guard.

joe johnson, michael redd and larry hughes all got the same this year salary wise, and personally i'd rather give $12 million a season to joe johnson over redd and hughes

Good call. Joe Johnson is like a combined version of Hughes and Redd IMO. Defense, passing and shooting.

Johnson isn't overrated. Johnson, Hughes and Redd all pretty much got the same contract, and Johnson's signing will always be considered the most reasonable.

He can pass, rebound, score. An all-around player. He is better than some other high paid players.
